This is the sensor version of Paso: the same white recessed step light, with a PIR movement detector built into the faceplate so the light switches itself on when someone approaches and off again afterwards. That changes what it is for. A plain step light is left on all evening; a PIR Paso is specified where you want the stair lit only when it is being used — a hallway at 3am, a hotel corridor, a stairwell that nobody should have to find a switch for.
The sensor is the reason to buy this variant and also its main constraint. It reacts to movement in front of it across a 180° field, so the mounting position has to see the approach — behind a newel post or facing a wall, it will trigger late or not at all. Where you want continuous low-level light rather than on-demand light, the non-sensor Paso is the correct fitting.
Rated IP20. That is an indoor-only rating — it offers no protection against water at all, so it must not be used on an external wall, in a bathroom wet area, or anywhere exposed to weather or hose-down cleaning. Recessed install, with a 33 mm wide by 152 mm high cutout, so confirm the wall cavity and stud positions before cutting.
It runs on 240 V and wires straight to mains — no driver or transformer required. The LED is built in: no globe is needed and none can be fitted. Tri-colour selectable at install across 3000K, 4000K and 5500K, giving 45 lm at 3000K, 55 lm at 4000K and 49 lm at 5500K from 3 W, with a 180° spread. Installation by a licensed electrician.
Backed by a 3-year replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You; if you are mixing sensor and non-sensor Paso down one corridor, ask us to confirm the faceplates match before you cut the wall.
No. This is a 240 V fitting and connects directly to mains, so there is no transformer or driver to buy or find space for.
No. IP20 means no water protection whatsoever. Keep it to dry internal walls — an external wall, a shower zone or a position exposed to weather needs a properly IP-rated fitting.
33 mm wide by 152 mm high. Check the stud and cavity before cutting, because the opening is tall enough to clash with noggins in a plasterboard wall.
It detects movement across a 180° field in front of the faceplate and switches the light on, then off again once movement stops. Mount it where it can actually see the approach to the stair, not facing into a corner.
No. The 3 W LED is built in and not user-replaceable, so nothing is bought alongside it and nothing is changed later.
45 lm at 3000K, 55 lm at 4000K and 49 lm at 5500K. This is wayfinding light for a stair or corridor, not general room lighting.
