Bare 316 marine-grade stainless and a grill face — this is the 6 W Bata specified the way it usually ends up on a coastal or poolside job. 316 carries molybdenum, which is what separates it from the 304 stainless that pits and browns after a season near salt air, and the grill keeps the LED panel out of direct view at the height a brick light actually sits.

Grill versus plain, on a stainless face

The blades do two things on this finish. They cut the glare, which matters most on a path or beside seating where the fitting is seen head-on. And they give the brushed metal something to catch the light on, so the face reads as a detail rather than a blank plate. Everything electrical and dimensional is identical to the plain-faced HV3005T-SS316; the choice is visual.

The maintenance that keeps the warranty

Havit's instruction sheet is explicit: all 316 stainless fittings must have regular cleaning maintenance to avoid tea staining, and tea staining is not covered by the warranty. On a grilled face there are more edges and shadows for airborne salt to settle into than on a plain one, so build the rinse into the routine rather than treating it as optional. Havit supplies part HV9971, a stainless maintenance kit with a rejuvenating paste and a protective spray, for restoring a face that has already bloomed. The same sheet asks that aluminium, 304 stainless and powder-coated 316 stainless fittings be kept 5 km from salt water — this face is uncoated 316, but the body behind it is aluminium, so on an oceanfront site take advice before specifying.

Cut-out, depth, and two ways to mount it

The 6 W Bata has published apertures where the 10 W models do not: 159 × 58 mm with a canister, 155 × 50 mm without, and 60 mm of depth. It ships with spring clips for gyprock as well, so one order code covers a masonry wall and a lined soffit. Cut and test-fit a single aperture before committing to a run.

Not dimmable — on either supply

The HV3006T data sheet and the family installation instructions both state Dimmable: No. That holds for the 240 V code and the 12 V code alike. The grilled 10 W HV3004T is Triac dimmable on 240 V, so if a dimmer is required the answer is the larger fitting, not this one.

Wiring it

240 V is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth. 12 V DC is Class 3, no earth, and must be run from a 12 V DC LED driver — never directly off mains. On 12 V, keep the fitting within 25 m of its driver and supply within ±5% of rated voltage, or the warranty is void. Wiring is parallel, the tail is 150 mm, and Havit lists IP67 gel connectors (HV9911, HV9912, HV9913) for making the joint watertight if you would rather not solder and heat-shrink in a wall cavity.

Output

IP54, IK06, frosted tempered glass, 120° beam, CRI above 80, and a built-in 6 W LED on a replaceable panel with no globe or socket. The slide switch on the panel gives 3000 K, 4000 K or 5500 K at 480, 510 and 540 lumens.
