White is the finish that makes a recessed fitting vanish. Against rendered, painted or light-toned brickwork the powder-coated white Bata sits flush and reads as part of the wall by day — which is the whole point of recessing a light in the first place. It is the plain-face 6 W model: flat cover, clean rectangular aperture, nothing protruding into a path.
The 6 W Bata is the model in this range with published apertures, and they are the numbers to fix before anything else happens on site. 159 × 58 mm with the canister, 155 × 50 mm without, and 60 mm of depth behind the finished face. On a render-over-block wall the depth is usually the constraint rather than the width — worth checking before the render goes on, not after. Cut and test-fit a single aperture before running the rest.
Unlike the 10 W Bata, this one is supplied with spring clips for gyprock as well as taking a canister. That gives one fitting for both a masonry garden wall and a lined entry soffit, and it is a genuine reason to choose the 6 W over the larger model when a job runs across both.
The data sheet and the installation instructions agree: Dimmable: No, on 240 V and on 12 V alike. Do not assume the 10 W behaviour carries down the range — the HV3003T is Triac dimmable on its 240 V code, and this fitting is not. If a dimmer is in the drawing, specify the larger model.
The 240 V code is Protection Class 1 and needs an earth. The 12 V DC code is Class 3, needs no earth, and requires a 12 V DC LED driver; the installation sheet states in capitals that a 12 V fitting must not be connected directly to mains. On 12 V the fitting cannot sit more than 25 m from its driver and supply must hold within ±5% of rated voltage, or the warranty is void. Wiring is parallel and the tail is 150 mm, so plan the joint position before the canister goes in.
IP54, IK06, frosted tempered glass, 120° beam, CRI above 80. The 6 W LED is built in on a replaceable panel — no globe and no socket — with a slide switch selecting 3000 K, 4000 K or 5500 K at install for 480, 510 and 540 lumens. White powder coat over 316 stainless is included in Havit's request that such fittings be kept 5 km from salt water, so on an oceanfront job take advice before specifying a painted finish.
Both voltages of the white 6 W Bata are stocked at Lights For You; the grilled version of the same fitting is the HV3006T-WHT.
159 × 58 mm with the canister or 155 × 50 mm without, with 60 mm of depth behind the face. On rendered block the depth is usually the tighter constraint.
Yes — spring clips for gyprock are supplied alongside the masonry canister option, so one fitting covers both.
No. Both Havit documents for this model record it as non-dimmable on either supply voltage. The 10 W HV3003T dims on 240 V; this one does not.
It is a poly powder coat over a 316 stainless cover, not a paint film. Havit does ask that powder-coated stainless fittings be kept 5 km from salt water, which is the more relevant limit for a coastal site.
240 V if the circuit is mains and earthed — it is Protection Class 1. 12 V DC if you are running a low-voltage garden circuit, in which case a 12 V DC LED driver is required.
25 m maximum on 12 V, with supply within ±5% of rated voltage. Beyond that the sheet states the warranty is void.
No. The 6 W LED is built in on a replaceable panel and there is no socket to lamp.
