This is the 6 W Bata in bare 316 marine-grade stainless steel — no powder coat, no paint, just the metal. 316 is the molybdenum-bearing grade specified for coastal work; it holds up where 304 pits and discolours within a season or two of salt air. On a rendered or light-toned wall the brushed face reads as a deliberate detail rather than something to hide, which is why it tends to be the finish chosen for a front elevation.
It is worth being plain about this, because it is the single most common warranty conversation on stainless outdoor fittings. Havit's instruction sheet requires that all 316 stainless fittings have regular cleaning maintenance to prevent tea staining — the brown surface bloom that appears where airborne salt sits undisturbed — and states that tea staining is not covered by the warranty. It is cosmetic, not structural, and it is preventable with a fresh-water rinse. Havit also lists a stainless maintenance kit, part HV9971, containing a rejuvenating paste and a protective spray for exactly this. The same sheet asks that aluminium, 304 stainless and powder-coated 316 stainless fittings be kept 5 km from salt water; this fitting's cover is uncoated 316, though its body is aluminium.
Havit publishes the apertures for the 6 W Bata, which its 10 W siblings do not have: 159 × 58 mm with the canister, 155 × 50 mm without, and 60 mm of depth behind the face. It also ships with spring clips for gyprock, so the same fitting handles a masonry wall via canister and a lined soffit via clips. Cut one aperture and test-fit before committing — in stone or face brick the mistake is permanent.
Both the data sheet and the installation instructions record Dimmable: No, on either supply voltage. If the design calls for a dimmer, the 10 W HV3003T is Triac dimmable on its 240 V code and this one is not.
The two order codes are electrically different. 240 V is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth; 12 V DC is Class 3, needs no earth, and must run from a 12 V DC LED driver — never straight off mains. On 12 V, the fitting cannot be installed more than 25 m from that driver, and supply must stay within ±5% of the rated voltage, or Havit voids the warranty. Wiring is parallel; the 150 mm tail should be soldered and heat-shrunk, or joined with an IP67 gel connector, to keep water out.
IP54 and IK06, frosted tempered glass, a 120° beam and CRI above 80. The 6 W LED is built in on a replaceable panel — no globe, no socket — and a slide switch on that panel selects 3000 K, 4000 K or 5500 K at install for 480, 510 and 540 lumens. It arrives set to 3000 K.
Lights For You supplies the stainless 6 W Bata in both voltages, and the grilled equivalent as the HV3006T-SS316.
It is a brown surface bloom that forms on stainless in salt-laden air. Havit requires regular cleaning to prevent it and excludes it from the warranty — it is cosmetic and reversible, not a failure of the fitting.
Yes. Havit lists the HV9971 stainless maintenance kit for this range, with a rejuvenating paste and a protective spray.
159 × 58 mm with a canister, 155 × 50 mm without, and 60 mm of depth. Test-fit one aperture before cutting a run.
No — the data sheet and installation instructions both record it as non-dimmable, on either supply. The 10 W HV3003T dims on 240 V if you need that.
No. The 12 V DC code is Protection Class 3. The 240 V code is Class 1 and does require an earth.
Not on 12 V. Havit caps it at 25 m with supply within ±5% of rated voltage and states the warranty is void beyond that.
Neither. The 6 W LED is built in on a replaceable panel; there is no socket.
