Tivah 316 Stainless Steel TRI Colour Single

The Tivah single adjustable in 316 stainless steel is the coastal version of a wall and pillar light that aims. It tilts through 90° and swivels through 270° on its backing plate, so it points at the thing you want lit rather than the ground beneath it — and 316 is the marine grade, which is the reason to pay more for this finish than for the powder-coated one.

Why 316 rather than 304 or powder coat

The molybdenum in 316 is what resists chloride pitting. Within sight of surf, or beside a chlorinated pool, a painted body eventually blisters where the film is breached and a lesser alloy tea-stains. 316 weathers instead of failing. If the fitting is going somewhere sheltered and inland, the powder-coated Tivah does the same job for less.

Three order codes, and the choice is electrical

This listing carries three genuinely different products, not three finishes. HV1205T has a built-in LED and needs no globe at all. HV1207GU10T takes a mains-voltage GU10 globe on 240 V AC. HV1207MR16T takes a 12 V DC MR16 globe and therefore requires a 12 V DC LED driver. Settle the electrical arrangement first: the built-in version is simplest and never needs a lamp, the GU10 lets you change the globe without touching the fitting, and the MR16 gives a low-voltage circuit with no earth at the fitting, which suits a run of several fed from one driver.

Where it works

• Beachfront and estuary pillars and boundary walls, aimed across the pillar face.
• Poolside walls and pump-house surrounds, where chlorinated splash attacks paint first.
• Uplighting a palm or feature plant from a fixed point on an adjacent wall.
• House numbers and signage that need light aimed at them rather than past them.

Specifying it

Tri-colour switching covers 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K, with a 90° beam and a high output reflector. The built-in 3 W version gives 270 lm, 285 lm and 300 lm across the three settings; the globe versions depend on the lamp you fit. IP65 covers direct rain and hose wash-down, and CRI is above 80. Neither globe version is dimmable with the globes supplied. If you fit your own lamp, do not exceed 35 W in the 240 V GU10 socket or 20 W in the 12 V MR16 socket — those are thermal limits on the fitting, and an oversized lamp cooks the housing.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. The three versions share one body, so you can mix a built-in fitting with a GU10 one along the same elevation and they will look identical.
