TRAK-3 CIRCUIT 3.0M SUSPENSION KIT

⭐⭐ 3 metres is a serious drop — and the reason is optical

• ⭐ LIGHT FALLS OFF WITH THE SQUARE OF DISTANCE. ⭐ A spotlight at 6 m delivers roughly a quarter of what the same fitting delivers at 3 m, and about a ninth of what it delivers at 2 m.
• ⭐⭐ SO ON A HIGH CEILING, DROPPING THE TRACK IS CHEAPER THAN ADDING FITTINGS — and it is also better light, because the beams have less distance to spread and the pools stay tighter.
• ⭐ FROM A 6 m CEILING THIS BRINGS THE TRACK TO 3 m, ⭐ which is a working height for a warehouse conversion, a double-height retail space, a church hall or a gallery.
• ⚠ FROM ANYTHING UNDER ABOUT 4.5 m IT IS TOO MUCH. ⭐ A 3 m drop from a 4 m ceiling puts the track at head height. ⭐ The 1.5 m kit or a rod kit is the answer below that.
• ⚠ AND A LONG DROP SWAYS. ⭐ Three metres of suspension moves noticeably in air currents — under a large fan, near a roller door, or in a double-height space with convection, which is exactly where 3 m drops get used. ⭐ Ask about lateral restraint if the space moves air.

⭐ Quantity comes from the track, not the fittings

⭐⭐ SUSPENSION POINTS ARE SPACED BY THE TRACK'S OWN SPAN AND LOAD, NOT BY HOW MANY LIGHTS ARE ON IT. ⭐ A 2 m track with two heads and a 2 m track with eight need the same points, because the deflection is a property of the extrusion. ⭐ Plan a point near each end, at intervals along the run, and one at every joint — a joint is a hinge, and an unsupported joint is where a track visibly sags. ⚠ Confirm the spacing against the track's own load data before ordering quantities. ⭐ The kit is sold per point.

⭐ Match the finish to the track

⭐ Black or white. ⭐⭐ MATCH THE TRACK, BECAUSE THE SUSPENSION READS AS PART OF IT. ⭐ A white suspension on a black track is a visible interruption at every point. ⚠ The commonest mistake is matching the ceiling instead, which works only when the track matches the ceiling too. ⭐ At a 3 m drop the suspension is a genuinely visible element rather than a detail — three metres of wire or rod at every point is part of what the space looks like, so the choice matters more here than on a short drop.

⚠ Load, not just length

⭐ 3-circuit track carries high power loads and the whole assembly hangs from these points. ⭐⭐ THE STRUCTURE ABOVE MATTERS AS MUCH AS THE KIT. ⚠ A 3 m drop puts the load a long way from the fixing, and a ceiling that would happily carry a surface-mounted track may need checking for a suspended one — particularly a suspended plasterboard ceiling, which is not a structural surface. ⭐ Fix to structure, not to lining, and have the fixing method confirmed for the total load of track, fittings and suspension. ⚠ This is an electrician-plus-structure job on a high ceiling, not a single-trade one.
