Bloc Outdoor LED Wall Light

The Bloc EX5 is a compact exterior wall sconce with a built-in 5 W LED — no globe to buy, none to replace. It throws a soft angled wash rather than a hard up/down split, which makes it the quieter member of the Bloc family.

A 140° beam is a wash, not a beam

At 140° the light is spread very wide, so it lifts a whole wall or a corridor evenly instead of drawing scallops. That is the right choice where you want a surface to read as lit rather than patterned — a passage, a boundary wall, an alfresco ceiling line. If you want visible up-and-down scallops on a feature wall, the larger Bloc EX8 up/down is the one to specify instead.

Colour temperature is set on site

It is a 3 CCT fitting: a switch selects 3000 K, 4000 K or 5000 K before mounting. Set every fitting in a run before any of them go up — matching them afterwards means taking them all down. 3000 K suits render, brick and timber; 5000 K reads clinical on a house and belongs on a commercial frontage.

Where it works

• Passages, side paths and boundary walls needing even light rather than pattern.
• Alfresco and courtyard walls, at or just above head height.
• Project and multi-residential frontages, where one CCT setting keeps a whole building consistent.
• Indoors as well — the IP65 rating is no disadvantage in a laundry or garage.

Specifying it

It is 220 mm long and 113 mm high in polycarbonate, drawing 5 W for 400 lm on a 140° spread. Rated IP65 — dust-tight and protected against water jets — so it is genuinely suitable for an exposed wall. The LED is built in and not replaceable, and the fitting is not dimmable.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Because it is non-dimmable, put it on its own switch rather than a dimmed circuit shared with interior lighting.
