The Bata is Havit's rectangular recessed brick light, and the HV3003T is the 10 W plain-face version — the brightest fitting in the range, and the one to reach for when the light has to do work rather than simply mark a wall. At 800 to 900 lumens it will wash a flight of entry steps, throw usable light along a side path, or graze a rendered wall from knee height.

Plain face, or the grilled sibling

Havit builds this body two ways and the difference is the face. The HV3003T carries a plain face: a flat stainless cover with a clean rectangular aperture, so the fitting reads as a slot of light and nothing more. The HV3004T puts a grill across that same aperture, which breaks up the glare and hides the LED panel from a direct line of sight. Same body, same output, same price — the choice is how much of the source you want visible head-on.

Dimming is a 240 V feature only

This is the most important line on the page, because both supply options sit on one listing. Havit specifies the Bata 10 W as Triac dimmable on the 240 V model only. The 12 V DC order codes cannot be dimmed at all. If the circuit is going onto a dimmer, order a 240 V code — choosing 12 V because it felt like the safer outdoor option will leave you with a fitting that ignores the dimmer completely. The 12 V codes also require a suitable 12 V DC LED driver; the installation sheet is emphatic that a 12 V fitting must never be connected straight to mains.

Finishes, and the coastal question

The face is 316 stainless steel over an aluminium body, supplied bare in stainless or poly powder coated in black or white. Two limits from the instruction sheet matter before a beachfront install. It sets a 2 km setback from salt water for aluminium and 304 stainless components, and this fitting's body is aluminium. And every 316 stainless fitting needs regular cleaning, because tea staining is explicitly excluded from the warranty — an occasional fresh-water rinse is part of owning one near the coast.

Getting it into the wall

The 10 W Bata is a canister installation: the canister sets into the wall with its top flush to the finished face, and the body seats just behind that edge. Havit does not publish a cut-out dimension for this model, so set the aperture from the canister in your hand rather than from a figure, and test-fit one before committing to a run. Wiring is parallel, and on a 12 V circuit the fitting cannot sit more than 25 m from its driver, with supply held within ±5% of rated voltage; outside that allowance Havit voids the warranty.

Living with it

There is no globe and no socket — the 10 W LED is built in, and colour temperature is chosen at installation from a dip switch on the front of the panel, preset to 3000 K. Unusually for a sealed outdoor fitting the LED panel itself is replaceable, which turns a three-year warranty into a fitting worth specifying for a decade. CRI is above 80, the rating is IP54, and the tri-colour settings give 800, 850 and 900 lumens at 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K.
