At 600 mm the Barline Shadow becomes an architectural line rather than an accent — long enough to register as a deliberate element on a facade, short enough to pair or stack without dominating. The 90 mm width and 45 mm depth stay constant across the family, so the only variable is length, and 600 mm is the size most often specified where a bar has to relate to a door height or a window head. It doubles the output of the 300 mm at the same profile, which makes it the practical choice when the bar is doing real work lighting a path or an entry rather than just drawing a line.

Where it works

• Flanking a wide entry door, mounted vertically to echo the door's proportion.
• Above a garage door or along a driveway wall, run horizontally so the light lands on the paving.
• Alfresco and outdoor-kitchen walls, mounted horizontally to wash the bench and splashback.

Specifying it

HV3572T-BLK and HV3572T-WHT are 240 V AC. The fitting wires straight to mains, needs no driver, and as a Class I fitting requires an earth. The LED is built in — no globe is needed and none can be fitted — and sits behind a frosted Perspex diffuser that turns the diode line into a continuous band. Tri-colour switching gives 540 lm at 3000K, 1080 lm at 4000K and 585 lm at 5500K, so 4000K is the setting to choose if you need the bar to actually illuminate a surface. IP65 rated for direct rain and coastal exposure, IK08 for impact. Aluminium body in black or white powder coat. Covered by a 3-year replacement warranty.

Getting the effect right

Vertical bars either side of a door want to be the same length as each other and set at the same height; the shadow gap makes any misalignment obvious. On textured render the gap softens, so the crisp look this fitting is bought for needs a flat, true surface. Choose the colour temperature before the fitting is closed up.
