Cantena 25 Industrial Pendant Light Large 1Lt

The Cantena 25 is an exterior-rated pendant — a tapered solid brass frame holding trapezoid clear glass, hung on a short rod and chain. Exterior pendants are a much smaller category than exterior wall lights, and that is really why this fitting exists: there are not many ways to hang a decorative light over an outdoor table.

IP44 is what makes it an outdoor fitting

Rated IP44, it is protected against splashing from any direction. That covers a covered alfresco, a pergola or a verandah comfortably. It is not rated for direct hosing, so keep it out of the path of a pressure washer and do not hang it fully exposed over an open courtyard that takes driving rain.

Solid brass and clear glass

The frame is solid brass, finished either in polished antique brass or painted black. Clear trapezoid glass means the globe is visible, so a filament-style E27 lamp completes the look; a plain frosted globe leaves it unresolved. Brass outdoors will patina over time unless polished.

• Over an outdoor dining table under a pergola or verandah roof.
• Covered alfresco kitchens and servery benches.
• Porches with enough height to hang a pendant without it being in the way.
• Indoors too, in a kitchen or hallway wanting an industrial note — the IP rating does no harm inside.

Specifying it

The shade is ø250 mm and the fitting is 340 mm high, on a ø100 mm canopy. One E27 holder at 25 W maximum, and the globe is not included. It runs on 240 V and is IP44. There is also a smaller size in the family and a matching wall lamp, so a covered outdoor area can be done as a set. Warranty is three years.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You. Hang it high enough that nobody stands up into it — over a dining table, roughly 900 mm above the table top is the usual rule.
