The Polk 45 is a ø450 mm spun aluminium pendant — a single low-glare curved shade, hand-painted, in five brushed finishes.

It is a one-globe pendant, not a 45-light one. An earlier version of this page called it “a 45-light pendant” — the 45 in PE45 is the diameter in centimetres. The Polk takes one E27 globe.

Spun aluminium, and that is a real distinction

The shade is spun — formed by pressing a single disc of aluminium over a mould while it turns — not pressed or folded from sheet. That produces a continuous, seamless curve with no join anywhere, which is why the profile reads as clean from every angle and why the light comes off the inside surface evenly. It is also light for its size.

The curve is doing the glare control

A straight-sided cone throws light out sideways and shows you the globe from across the room. The Polk’s curved profile turns the light downward before it leaves the shade, so the source is hidden at normal viewing angles. That is what “low glare” means here, and it is why it works hung low over a table where you sit facing someone.

Hand-painted, in five brushed finishes

Brushed aluminium (the natural, undrawn metal), plus hand-painted black, bronze, gold and white brush finishes. Being brushed rather than gloss, they hold a soft directional sheen instead of a reflection — and hand-painting means slight variation between pieces, which on a large plain shade reads as depth.

Adjustable rod and canopy

Suspended on a 1,500 mm rod with an adjustable canopy. A rod rather than a cable means it hangs rigidly and stays where you put it — no swinging, no drift out of plumb, which matters on a 450 mm shade.

One E27 globe to 25 W, not supplied

Because the shade is opaque metal, the globe is never seen — a plain warm globe is all you need, and a decorative filament would be wasted. Dimming is globe dependent.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

  • Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
