The Domus MURO-ECO-20S is a 20 W twin-head exterior spotlight with a slimline sensor in black or white — IP65, CRI above 90, 2,100 lm, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, in polycarbonate for coastal sites.

⚠ A correction to our own record. It listed the beam angle as 180°. That is the sensor's detection angle. The light beam is 100° — still wide, but not the half-sphere the record implied. Both numbers are below, and they are different specifications.

The sensor, and how to set it so it does not annoy you

This is where most sensor floodlights disappoint, and all three settings are adjustable:

  • Detection: 180°, about 12 m. That is a wide, long reach — enough to catch someone at the front gate. ⚠ It is also enough to catch the footpath, the road and the neighbour's driveway. Aim the sensor down and inward, not straight out.
  • Duration: adjustable from about 10 seconds to about 4 minutes. Short for a walk to the bin; long for unloading a car. Start in the middle.
  • Lux control: adjustable from daylight to night. This decides how dark it has to be before the sensor arms. Set it to night unless you want it triggering on an overcast afternoon.

⚠ One fitting per switch. The datasheet is explicit: wiring more than one MURO-ECO to a single switch causes the sensors to malfunction. If you want two lights on one circuit, tell your electrician — and ask us, because that changes the product you should be buying.

Why polycarbonate, and why that matters near the sea

Most exterior spotlights are die-cast aluminium. This one is polycarbonate, which is a deliberate choice:

  • ✅ It cannot corrode. On a coastal site, salt attacks aluminium at the coating edges and around fixings; polycarbonate has nothing for it to attack.
  • ✅ Lighter, so it is kinder to render, fibro and older brickwork.
  • ⚠ It is a plastic body — if you want a metal fitting for appearance, this is not it. Ask us about the aluminium ranges.
Twin heads — use them properly

Two independently aimable heads on one backplate, and the mistake is to point both at the same place:

  • Split the coverage — one across the driveway, one down the side path. You get two useful pools from one wiring point.
  • Or overlap deliberately to kill shadows in one area, which is what you want above a back door or a work area.
  • ⚠ Aim them at night. A daytime guess is almost always wrong.
The numbers
  • 2,000 lm at 3000 K, 2,100 lm at 4000 K, 2,000 lm at 5000 K — genuinely bright, enough for a driveway.
  • 105 lm/W — efficient, and better than most exterior fittings.
  • ✅ CRI above 90 — unusually high outdoors. Planting reads green rather than grey, and it makes security footage far more useful.
  • 100° beam, 30,000 hours, IP65.
  • ⚠ It does not dim, which on a sensor light is no real loss.

Questions
Is the beam really 180 degrees?

No — that figure in our record was the sensor’s detection angle. The light beam is 100°, which is still wide but not the half-sphere 180 implied. The sensor detects across 180° to about 12 metres; the light covers 100°.

How do I stop it triggering all night?

Three things are adjustable. Aim the sensor down and inward rather than straight out, or its 12-metre reach will catch the footpath and the neighbour’s driveway. Set the lux threshold to night so it does not arm on an overcast afternoon. And start the duration in the middle of its 10-second to 4-minute range.

Can I wire two of them to one switch?

No. The datasheet is explicit that one fitting per switch is required or the sensors malfunction. If you want two lights on one circuit, tell your electrician and ask us — it changes which product you should buy.

Why polycarbonate instead of aluminium?

Corrosion. On a coastal site salt attacks aluminium at the coating edges and around fixings; polycarbonate gives it nothing to attack. It is also lighter, which is kinder to render, fibro and older brickwork. The trade-off is that it is a plastic body — if you want metal for appearance, ask us about the aluminium ranges.

How bright is it?

2,100 lumens at the 4000 K setting — genuinely bright, enough for a driveway — at about 105 lumens per watt, which is better than most exterior fittings.

What does CRI above 90 do outdoors?

Planting reads green rather than grey, and it makes security footage far more useful — colours in a recording are only as accurate as the light that made them. It is unusually high for an exterior fitting.

What should I do with the two heads?

Split them. One across the driveway and one down the side path gives two useful pools from one wiring point. Overlap them only where you want shadows killed, such as above a back door. Aim them at night — a daytime guess is almost always wrong.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
