A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Virsma square is a surface-mounted step light with an opal polycarbonate diffuser over an aluminium body — so it reads as an even glowing panel rather than a visible LED. At ankle height that is the difference between a fitting you notice and one you look straight past, which on a step is the point.
This listing sells both voltages, and getting it wrong is the expensive mistake:
HV3276T-BLK-240V and HV3276T-WHT-240V wire straight to mains. No driver.HV3276T-BLK-12V and HV3276T-WHT-12V are 12 V DC and require a
12 V DC LED driver. The datasheet is explicit that the 12 V model must be used with a
suitable driver, and it warns in capitals against connecting the fitting directly to 240 V.The bodies are identical, so a mis-ordered fitting looks correct on the bench and fails on the wall. Choose 240 V for one or two fittings off an existing point; choose 12 V when several share a run, because one central driver and no earth at each fitting keeps the wiring simple.
The 4 W LED is built in — no globe, no socket. Tri-colour switching covers 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K, giving 110 lm, 115 lm and 120 lm across the three settings. IP54 means rain and splashing are in scope; it is not a wash-down fitting, so for a hosed poolside step choose an IP65 alternative. Aluminium, poly powder coated black or white, all four codes at one price.
IP54 means protection against dust in harmful quantity and against splashing water from any direction. In practice that covers rain, run-off down a wall and a passing sprinkler. What it does not cover is a jet — a pressure washer aimed at the fitting, or a poolside step that gets hosed as part of regular cleaning. If the fitting will be washed down rather than merely rained on, specify an IP65 fitting instead; on an external step that distinction matters more than it sounds, because the water that kills a step light usually arrives under pressure from a hose rather than falling from the sky.
Tri-colour switching is set once at installation, at the fitting, so set every fitting on a flight the same before it goes on the wall. Warmer 3000 K suits domestic paving and planting; 5500 K reads cooler and more commercial. Behind an opal diffuser the difference is very visible, because the whole face glows rather than a small aperture.
Supplied by Lights For You. Order the driver at the same time as the 12 V fittings and size it for the whole run — the commonest problem on a dual-voltage listing is the right fittings arriving with nothing to power them.
Havit’s installation instructions for this fitting state that aluminium and 304 stainless steel fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environment. That is a condition on where the fitting may go, and it sits beside the IP rating rather than inside it: a fitting can be rated for direct rain and still fall outside this rule, because the issue is salt carried in the air rather than water landing on the surface. If your site is inside that zone, talk to us before you specify it — Lights For You can point you at a fitting whose material Havit does not name here.
Two are 240 V AC and wire straight to mains; two are 12 V DC and need a 12 V DC LED driver. Finish is black or white in each voltage.
No. The datasheet warns against it in capitals. It destroys the fitting and is not a warranty claim.
240 V for one or two fittings off an existing point. 12 V where several share a run — one central driver, no earth needed at each fitting.
IP54 covers rain and splashing, which suits most external steps and covered porches. For a step that gets hosed, choose an IP65 fitting.
No. The 4 W LED is built in.
110 lm, 115 lm and 120 lm across the three colour-temperature settings.
Three years, as a replacement warranty.
