Product Description
xThe Mood is the most substantial step light in this range and the only one offered in three different metals rather than three different paint finishes. That distinction is the whole point of the listing, and it is worth understanding before you choose an option, because the finishes are not interchangeable in the way powder-coated colours are.
Three metals, five options
- Solid bronze — bronze through the body. It weathers to a deep, dark patina outdoors and is the most characterful of the three.
- Graphite — solid brass with a graphite finish. Brass beneath, so it behaves like brass, not like a coated fitting.
- Black, White — 316 marine-grade stainless steel, poly powder coated.
Solid bronze appears twice on this listing, once as a standard line and once as limited stock. Both are the same order code and the same fitting; the second simply reflects remaining inventory.
What IP54 covers, and what it does not
The Mood is rated IP54: dust protection and protection against splashing water from any direction. That covers rain and run-off, which suits an external stair, a terrace or a covered entry. It does not cover a jet — so a step that gets hosed as part of cleaning a pool surround wants an IP65 fitting instead. It is worth being deliberate about this, because the marine-grade and solid-metal bodies suggest a tougher fitting than the ingress rating actually allows. Against that, it carries IK10, the highest common impact rating.
Wiring it
All five options run on 12 V DC and need a 12 V DC LED driver sized for the whole run with headroom — at 6 W each, six fittings draw 36 W. The sheet lists Protection Class 3, no earth required, and wiring is parallel. The cable tail is 300 mm, which is short enough that the junction needs planning before the fitting goes on the wall.
Specifying it
The 6 W LED is built in — no globe, no socket, nothing to replace. Tri-colour switching across 3000 K, 4000 K and 5500 K gives 460 lm, 490 lm and 520 lm on a 120° beam, set once at installation. It is not dimmable. Glass diffuser, CRI above 80.

Questions
What is the difference between the finishes?
They are different metals, not different paints. Solid bronze is bronze throughout; graphite is solid brass; black and white are powder-coated 316 stainless steel.
Why does solid bronze appear twice?
Both are the same order code and the same fitting. The second line simply reflects remaining limited stock.
Will bronze and brass change colour outdoors?
Yes. Both patinate over time — bronze to a deep dark tone. That is the material behaving normally, not a fault, and it is why fittings should be bought together.
Is IP54 enough for a poolside step?
Only if it is rained on rather than hosed. IP54 covers splashing, not jets — for wash-down choose an IP65 fitting despite the solid-metal body.
Does it need a driver?
Yes. All five options are 12 V DC and require a 12 V DC LED driver sized for the whole run.
Does it need an earth?
No. The sheet lists Protection Class 3 — no earth required at the fitting. Wiring is parallel.
What is the warranty?
Three years, as a replacement warranty.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
