Curva Black LED Step Light

Curva in black is the version most often specified when the fitting is meant to disappear — against dark render, charcoal blockwork or a bronze-framed entry, the body reads as shadow and only the frosted glass shows once it is lit. From 3 W it delivers 240 lm at 3000K, 245 lm at 4000K and 250 lm at 5500K, which is enough to light the tread rather than merely mark its edge.

The choice to make: how visible do you want the fitting?

Black hides the fitting in daylight and in shadow; white draws the eye and reads as deliberate detailing on a pale wall; the brass versions become a feature that ages. Curva shares one body across all of them, so the decision is purely about the wall you are fixing to — the light output and the wiring are identical.

Where it works

• Dark-rendered or charcoal external walls where a white faceplate would stand out at every step.
• Open garden and pool-surround steps — IP65 handles rain and hose-down cleaning.
• Driveway retaining walls, spaced down the run to define the edge from a car.
• Apartment terrace and balcony steps where a dimmable low-voltage circuit is already in place.

Specifying it

Rated IP65 with frosted glass over the LED, and Triac dimmable — pair it with a trailing-edge LED dimmer and check that the total connected load clears the dimmer's minimum, or a single fitting will flicker at low settings. Tri-colour selectable at install; choose one temperature for the whole flight.

Curva is 12 V DC and requires a 12 V DC LED driver. It must never be wired directly to 240 V — that is immediate, unwarranted failure. Keep each fitting within 25 m of its driver. The LED is built in, so no globe is needed and none can be fitted. Installation by a licensed electrician.
