Product Description
xPinta louvered LED step light in 316 stainless steel
A recessed step light in 316 stainless steel with a louvered face, drawing 2.3W. The louvre is the defining feature: horizontal blades across the aperture that let light out downward while blocking the direct view of the source from in front.
That is exactly what a step light on a stair or a path should do. An unlouvered recessed light at shin height puts a bright point straight into the eyes of someone walking toward it, which does the opposite of helping them see the step. A louvered face throws the light onto the tread and leaves the walker's night vision intact.
Output and colour temperature
The Pinta is tri-colour, with the colour temperature selected at installation rather than fixed at manufacture: 3000K, 4000K or 5500K, rated at 160lm, 170lm and 180lm respectively. Colour rendering is 80 CRI or better and the beam is 120°.
Those are the right figures for the job. A step light is not meant to light a space — it marks a level change and puts enough light on the tread to read its edge. Anything substantially brighter at that height becomes glare.
316 stainless, and what it needs
The body is 316 stainless steel, the grade specified for sustained exposure to moisture, salt air and pool chemistry. On a stair or a path a fitting sits low, gets splashed, and is washed down with whatever cleans the paving around it.
316 is not maintenance-free. In coastal air it benefits from an occasional wash to prevent the brown surface staining that otherwise appears on stainless — cosmetic rather than structural, and far easier to prevent than to remove once established.
Power and installation
The Pinta runs on 12V DC, so a 12V driver is required on the circuit and is not part of this listing. Low voltage is what makes a fitting recessed into a walking surface straightforward to specify.
It is rated IP65 for dust and jetted water, and it is not dimmable. Set out the whole run before cutting anything: a recessed fitting cannot be moved afterwards, and on a stair the fittings need to sit at a consistent height relative to each tread rather than to the wall. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.
Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.
Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.
Damaged or Missing Items
Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.
If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.
Returns
Change of Mind Returns
- Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
- The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Credits will be issued in the form of store credit or gift voucher and will be equal to the price paid for the product minus the cost of shipping. Store credit vouchers are valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Our Rights
We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.
Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
