Corba 6W Recessed Brick Light with Cover

This is the middle Corba — a recessed brick light at 6 W, roughly twice the output of the 3 W model and in a noticeably larger body. It is the size to choose when the fitting has to light a wider path, a driveway edge or a flight of steps rather than simply mark where the wall is.

The cut-out is bigger, and it is not interchangeable

The 6 W Corba needs 159 × 58 mm at a depth of 60 mm. That is substantially larger than the 3 W model's aperture, so the two sizes cannot be swapped once a wall is cut — worth settling at design stage rather than on site. As with any recessed fitting, cut and test-fit one aperture before committing to a whole run, and decide before the brickwork goes up whether the canister is being used. The extra depth matters too: at 60 mm the fitting needs a genuine cavity behind it, so a single-skin wall or a rendered blockwork face may not have the room without forming a pocket first. Check what is behind the brick before the aperture is marked out, not after.

Six order codes, and three of them need a driver

Three finishes in two voltages:

• 240 V codes wire straight to mains — no driver, simplest where an existing point is nearby.
• 12 V codes need a 12 V DC LED driver sized for the run. At 6 W each, six fittings draw 36 W, so choose a driver above that total rather than level with it, and site it somewhere that suits its own IP rating.

The bodies are identical between voltages, so check the order code rather than the fitting. Black is the least expensive finish; antique brass and brass cost more and are worth it where the cover plate sits at eye level or beside an entry.

Specifying it

The 6 W LED is built in — no globe, no socket, nothing to replace. Tri-colour switching gives 260 lm at 3000 K, 290 lm at 4000 K and 285 lm at 5500 K, set once at installation; the middle setting is the brightest, so the three figures are colours rather than a ladder of outputs. IP54 covers rain and splashing but not jets, so keep it clear of anything that is hosed down. Aluminium, supplied with its cover.

Lights For You carries all three Corba sizes. If a project mixes them, keep one size per elevation — the apertures differ enough that alternating them along a wall reads as an accident.

Earthing and protection class

This listing sells more than one supply, and the earthing requirement is not the same on both. Check which part number you are wiring before you start.

• HV3012T-BLK-240V, HV3012T-AB-240V, HV3012T-BR-240V run on 240 V AC mains and are Protection Class 1 — an earth is required at the fitting. Havit's installation sheet has the installer connect the earth conductor first, then live and neutral.
• HV3012T-BLK-12V, HV3012T-AB-12V, HV3012T-BR-12V run on 12 V DC and are Protection Class 3 — no earth is required at the fitting. The isolation comes from the LED driver rather than from an earth conductor, and these part numbers must never be connected directly to 240 V.
