A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
A miniature recessed step light in 316 stainless steel, emitting up and down from a single small aperture. It sets into a riser, a wall or a paver so the face finishes flush, and it marks a level change from both directions at once.
Up and down from one fitting is what distinguishes it. On a stair, a single-direction fitting lights the tread below it and leaves the wall above dark; this one puts a small wash in each direction, which reads as a deliberate detail on a rendered or stone wall rather than simply as functional lighting.
The Sako throws a 30° beam, which is tight. Two narrow cones on a wall produce a defined hourglass shape rather than a general glow — a considered architectural effect at very small scale.
The trade is that it lights very little beyond those two cones. This is a fitting for marking and for effect, not for lighting a path surface. Its colour temperature is 3000K, a warm white that suits stone, brick and render.
The body is 316 stainless steel, and the fitting is rated IP67 — a higher rating than most step lights carry, covering temporary immersion rather than only splashing. That matters where a fitting is set low into a wall beside a path that floods, or into a step that collects water in heavy rain.
As with any 316 fitting in coastal air, an occasional wash prevents the surface staining that otherwise develops. It is cosmetic rather than structural.
The Sako runs on 12V DC, so a 12V driver is required on the circuit and is not part of this listing. It is not dimmable.
Because it is recessed, set out the whole run before cutting anything. On a stair the fittings should sit at a consistent height relative to each tread rather than to the wall, which is a different line — and getting that wrong is only visible once every fitting is in and lit. Installation is work for a licensed electrician.
Yes. It emits in both directions from a single recessed aperture.
30°, which gives two defined cones rather than a general wash.
IP67, which covers temporary immersion — higher than most step lights.
Yes. It runs on 12V DC and the driver is not supplied.
3000K, a warm white.
