Tivah LED Garden Spike Light TRI Colour 5w in Solid Brass Havit Lighting - HV1457T

Tivah HV1457T is the wide one. Its datasheet states a 120° beam separately from the head's tilt, and that single figure changes what the fitting is for: it washes a broad area at close range instead of throwing a defined cone at a target. Point a narrow spot at a hedge and you get a bright ellipse with dark ground either side of it; point this at the same hedge from the same distance and you get an even sheet of light. For low, wide subjects — hedging, massed planting, a rendered wall behind a bed — that is the more useful behaviour.

The decision that matters: this is a 12 V fitting

It runs on 12 V DC and requires a suitable 12 V DC LED driver. Its installation sheet states the rule and the penalty together: "Use an appropriate 12v DC LED Driver — DO NOT CONNECT LIGHT FITTING DIRECT TO 240V", and "Voltage to fitting must be within + or - 5% of voltage required and cannot be installed more than 25m from LED Driver". Outside either limit Havit voids the warranty, so the driver's position is part of the design, not an afterthought.

Where it works

• Hedging and massed planting — a 120° spread covers width that a spot beam cannot.
• Close-range wall washing, where the fitting sits near the surface it is lighting.
• Low garden beds that need light spread evenly rather than a bright centre.
• Formal gardens where solid brass is wanted for how it ages.

Specifying it

The body is solid brass, 374 mm overall with a ø60 mm head, on a 285 mm spike and a 2 m cable. It takes a 5 W MR16 globe, supplied, tri-colour selectable, and the product's own table pairs the figures as 270 lm at 3000K, 285 lm at 4000K and 300 lm at 5500K. Note that the 120° beam spreads that output over a much larger area than a narrow globe would, so it reads softer than the lumen figure suggests — that is the intent, not a shortfall. The datasheet records CRI >80, IK08 impact resistance and Protection Class III, meaning low voltage with no earth required, at IP65. It is not dimmable.
