Pointe LED Garden Spike Light TRI Colour in 316 Stainless Steel Black Havit Lighting - HV1401T-BLK

This is Pointe in black — the same 626 mm 316 stainless body as the bare-steel version, poly powder coated. The finish is the entire decision here, and it is not a cosmetic one. A stainless barrel catches daylight and reads as a bright vertical object in the bed all day; a black one disappears into mulch and shadow and is only apparent at night, when the light is visible and the fitting is not. In a designed garden that difference is usually the whole brief.

The decision that matters: this is a 12 V fitting

It runs on 12 V DC and requires a suitable 12 V DC LED driver, and its installation sheet states the consequence of ignoring that: "Use an appropriate 12v DC LED Driver — DO NOT CONNECT LIGHT FITTING DIRECT TO 240V". The same sheet sets two warranty conditions — a maximum of 25 m from the driver and supply within ±5% of the required voltage. Both are decided by where the driver goes, so settle that before the cable is buried.

Specifying it

Underneath the coating this is the same fitting: 316 marine-grade stainless, 626 mm tall, ø63 mm barrel, an 86 mm shade, and a two-piece spike of 2 × 238 mm. It takes the same 5 W MR16 globe, included, tri-colour selectable and paired by its own table as 270 lm at 3000K, 285 lm at 4000K and 300 lm at 5500K. Beam angle is a property of the globe, so it is yours to choose at replacement. CRI >80, IK08, Protection Class III and IP65, and it is not dimmable. One honest note about black powder coat outdoors: the coating is the sacrificial layer, so a chip from a garden tool exposes the steel beneath — on 316 that is far less consequential than it would be on a mild-steel fitting, but touch it up rather than leave it.
