Lille Aluminium Black Double Adjustable Spike Spotlight

Two heads on one post, and one hole in the garden. The double Lille is the answer to a problem that comes up constantly on a driveway or a long bed: you want light going two ways from the same point. One head down the path, one across the planting. One onto the driveway, one onto the fence. Doing that with two single fittings means two spikes, two cable tails and two things to keep aligned with each other; doing it with one post means one of everything and two heads that stay in the same relationship because they are on the same pole.

What you actually get

Each head is 2.5 W with its own built-in LED, tri-colour selectable, giving 2 × 130 lm at 3000K, 2 × 150 lm at 4000K and 2 × 140 lm at 5500K — around 260 to 300 lumens in total depending on the setting, split between two directions. Note that 4000K is the brightest of the three; output does not rise with colour temperature. Each head positions independently along the 1500 mm post and aims independently, so a low head washing a bed and a higher head throwing across a drive is a perfectly ordinary arrangement.

12 V or 24 V — and only one of them dims

Lille takes 12 V DC or 24 V DC, and both attached sheets say so; the installation steps call for a 12 V DC or 24 V DC LED driver to match. The condition worth knowing before it is ordered: it is Triac dimmable only when run on 12 V DC. At 24 V you gain the longer cable runs higher voltage allows and you lose dimming. Whichever you choose, do not connect the fitting directly to 240 V, keep it within 25 m of the driver and hold the supply within ±5% — Havit states both as warranty conditions. On the double, also size the driver for two heads rather than one; it is the most common oversight on this fitting.

Specifying it

• 40° beam per head — a controlled wash, not a spot — and Havit's snap-in honeycomb and linear lenses change that without rewiring anything.
• UGR under 12, an unusually low glare result for a fitting mounted this close to eye level. It is the reason to put it beside a path rather than a conventional spotlight.
• IP65 and IK08, clear glass diffuser, protection class 3, CRI above 80.
• 2500 mm cable fitted, which a post this tall needs.
• Aluminium heads on a plastic post. Havit's guidance keeps aluminium 5 km clear of salt water, so this is not a beachfront specification.

Poly powder-coated black, lamp life rated under 30,000 hours, and a 3-year replacement warranty. The wiring is licensed electrician's work.
