Eden is the plain, solid end of Havit's garden spike range: a single adjustable spotlight in 316 marine-grade stainless steel, with a 245 mm spike and a 5 W MR16 globe already in the box. There is no clever optic and no colour changing — it is a well-made metal body that aims light at something and keeps doing it in the weather. 316 is the grade that matters within a few streets of surf: it resists the salt-laden air that pits ordinary stainless and leaves rust runs down a light-coloured wall.
Eden runs on 12 V DC and requires a suitable 12 V DC LED driver. Its installation sheet is blunt about the alternative — "Use an appropriate 12v DC LED Driver — DO NOT CONNECT LIGHT FITTING DIRECT TO 240V". Doing so destroys the fitting immediately and is not a warranty claim. Two further limits from the same sheet are worth designing around before you dig: the supply at the fitting must stay within ±5% of 12 V, and the fitting cannot sit more than 25 m from its driver. Outside either, Havit voids the warranty. On a long garden run that is a real constraint — it usually means a driver in a garden box partway down the bed rather than one at the house.
The globe is a 5 W MR16 and it is included, which also means it is the part you replace rather than the fitting. It is tri-colour selectable, and the product's own table pairs each temperature with its output: 270 lm at 3000K, 285 lm at 4000K and 300 lm at 5500K. Beam angle is a property of the globe fitted, not of the body, so if you swap the supplied globe check the beam of the replacement — an MR16 is sold anywhere from a tight 24° spot to a wide flood, and that choice changes the result far more than the wattage does. Both datasheets state the fitting is not dimmable. Colour rendering is CRI >80, IP65, with 90° of tilt and 270° of swivel on the head. Low-voltage work still belongs to a licensed electrician.
Backed by a 3-year replacement warranty.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You — if you are running Eden down a long coastal bed, talk to us about driver placement before you trench, because the 25 m limit is the thing people discover last.
Yes — a 12 V DC LED driver. The fitting must not be wired straight to 240 V; its installation sheet says so in capitals, and doing it destroys the fitting and voids the warranty. Size the driver against the total wattage of every fitting on the run, with headroom.
No more than 25 m, and the supply at the fitting must stay within ±5% of 12 V. Both are stated warranty conditions, not recommendations. On a long bed this usually means placing the driver partway down the garden rather than at the house.
Yes to both. A 5 W MR16 globe is supplied, and because it is a replaceable globe rather than a sealed LED, the fitting itself does not become disposable when the lamp reaches end of life.
Whatever the globe gives you. The body does not set the beam — an MR16 is available from a narrow spot to a wide flood, so check the beam figure on any replacement globe. That single choice changes the look of the installation more than wattage does.
No. Both of its datasheets state the fitting is not dimmable. If you want to pull the level back, choose a fitting specified as dimmable together with a dimmable 12 V DC driver — dimming a non-dimmable fitting is not a wiring problem you can solve at the driver.
Salt. 316 contains molybdenum, which is what resists chloride pitting near the coast. Within a few streets of the beach a 304 or powder-coated body will show tea staining and eventually rust marks; 316 is the grade specified for that exposure.
Yes. IP65 covers driven rain, sprinklers and hose-down, which is what a garden spike actually meets. What it does not cover is sitting in a puddle, so avoid hollows where water collects around the body.
