Lisse is a slim rectangular up/down wall light with tempered glass at both ends, built from powder-coated aluminium and rated IP54. This listing carries the full range: 240V or 12V, in white or black. The narrow profile is the reason to choose it — on a pier face or a narrow entry return a round fitting looks bulky, and Lisse sits almost flat against the wall.

The choice to make: 240V or 12V

This is the decision to get right before ordering, because the two are wired completely differently:

  • 240V — connects straight to mains. No driver, no transformer. Choose this for a single fitting or a pair by a door, where running a low-voltage circuit would be unnecessary work.
  • 12V — requires a 12V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to 240V. Choose this when several fittings will share one transformer, or where a low-voltage garden circuit already exists.

The light output is the same either way — 2 × 5W built-in LED, tri-colour selectable at 3000K, 4000K or 5500K. Only the wiring differs.

Where it works
  • Entry walls and pier faces — the slim body suits narrow surfaces.
  • Sheltered facades — IP54 suits eaves, porches and recessed entries.
  • Repeated runs — 12V plus one driver is tidier than several mains points.
Specifying it

Pick one colour temperature for the whole run and set every fitting to match. If you specify 12V, size the driver for the total circuit load, keep each fitting within 25 m of the driver, and hold supply within ±5% — Havit's warranty does not extend past those limits. Installation by a licensed electrician.

Supplied and supported by Lights For You; we can advise on the 240V-versus-12V choice for your site.

Coastal siting — Havit’s condition

Havit’s installation instructions for this fitting state that aluminium and 304 stainless steel fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environment. That is a condition on where the fitting may go, and it sits beside the IP rating rather than inside it: a fitting can be rated for direct rain and still fall outside this rule, because the issue is salt carried in the air rather than water landing on the surface. If your site is inside that zone, talk to us before you specify it — Lights For You can point you at a fitting whose material Havit does not name here.

Earthing and protection class

This listing sells more than one supply, and the earthing requirement is not the same on both. Check which part number you are wiring before you start.

  • HV3644T-WHT-240V, HV3644T-BLK-240V run on 240 V AC mains and are Protection Class 1 — an earth is required at the fitting. Havit's installation sheet has the installer connect the earth conductor first, then live and neutral.
  • HV3644T-WHT-12V, HV3644T-BLK-12V run on 12 V DC and are Protection Class 3 — no earth is required at the fitting. The isolation comes from the LED driver rather than from an earth conductor, and these part numbers must never be connected directly to 240 V.
Questions
Which should I buy — the 240V or the 12V?

For one or two fittings near an existing mains point, 240V is simpler and needs no extra hardware. For several fittings across a garden or facade, 12V on a shared driver is tidier and often cheaper to run in.

Does the 240V version need a driver?

No. It wires directly to mains. Only the 12V version needs a 12V DC LED driver, and that one must never be connected to 240V.

Is the light output different between the two?

No. Both are 2 × 5W built-in LED with the same tri-colour options. The difference is entirely in how they are powered.

Can I mix 240V and 12V fittings on one wall?

Physically they look identical, so visually yes — but they are two separate circuits and your electrician has to run both. Where a wall is one continuous run it is simpler to commit to one voltage.

Will IP54 cope on an exposed wall?

IP54 is rated for splashing, not sustained direct rain. Under an eave or in a recessed entry it is well within its rating; on a fully exposed coastal wall choose an IP65 fitting.
