This listing sells the fixed deep Prime downlight on a Ø90 mm cut-out in all six of Havit's finishes — antique brass, brass, copper and nickel alongside white and black. Each is a complete 12 W luminaire with its driver, flex and plug. It is the largest hole in the range and the deep housing behind it is what the model is for.
Two Prime models take a Ø90 mm cut-out: this fixed deep body and the tilting HV5512. That is worth knowing before you buy, because it means an existing 90 mm ceiling can take either — the low-glare fixed one here, or a tilting one where light needs aiming at a wall. The other two Prime bodies take Ø70 mm and Ø76 mm holes and will not fit, and nothing in the range name or the finish distinguishes them. The face measures Ø105 mm, so it covers a rough or previously enlarged 90 mm hole with a reasonable margin.
The light source is set well back from the face, so what you see from across a room is the lit surface rather than the emitter. Havit publishes that as UGR <19 for this model against <22 on the shallow HV5511 and HV5512 housings — a real difference in discomfort glare, and the reason to choose a deep body for a lounge, a bedroom or any room people sit and look up in. What it costs is ceiling depth.
A slide switch on the back sets 3000K, 4000K or 5500K before installation. Havit measures 839 lm, 913 lm and 841 lm at those points, so 4000K is brightest by about 9% and the warm and cool ends are two lumens apart — the colour decision costs nothing in light. Those figures are identical across all four Prime bodies from the same 12 W engine; the housing changes the hole and the glare rating, not the output. The beam is 60°, with CRI >90 and SDCM <4.
The supplied driver is Triac dimmable, so an ordinary wall dimmer works; Havit offers the HV9625 to suit its Triac dimmable drivers. It is IC-4 rated, and the rating comes with conditions: only the LED fitting may sit under insulation, the driver must never be covered and must be mounted above any insulation covering the fixture, and the fixture must not be used with loose-fill insulation such as macerated paper or wool.
The body is aluminium with a clear glass diffuser, on 240 V AC, Protection Class 2 so no earth is required at the fitting, and IP54 at the front of the fitting only — an indoor recessed downlight. IK06, lamp expectancy >50,000 hrs. Havit's warranty line for these part numbers reads "3 Years replacement warranty (items ordered after 01/01/22)". Lights For You does not publish an overall depth for this model: Havit's drawing carries two unlabelled figures and does not say which is the depth of the housing, so the recess available should be checked on site rather than taken from an unattributed number.
Ø90 mm, with a face of Ø105 mm. The tilting HV5512 takes the same hole, so an existing 90 mm ceiling can take either model; the other two Prime bodies use Ø70 mm and Ø76 mm and will not fit.
Havit does not label it. The dimension drawing on this model’s data sheet and on the installation sheet carries two figures with nothing identifying which is the overall depth, and Havit’s website publishes no dimensions in its page copy. The cut-out and the face diameter are published because every source agrees on them.
Same hole, different job. This one is fixed and sits deeper, which is what gives it the UGR <19 glare rating; the HV5512 tilts 20° so it can aim light at a wall, and is rated <22. Choose on whether the light needs aiming or needs to disappear.
4000K, at 913 lm. 3000K gives 839 lm and 5500K gives 841 lm — two lumens between the two ends — so pick the colour for the room, not for the output.
Yes. The supplied driver is Triac dimmable so a standard wall dimmer works, and Havit offers the HV9625 to suit its Triac dimmable drivers. The Wi-Fi RGBCW version of this body is dimmed in an app instead and is not intended for a dimmer plate.
It is IC-4 rated, with conditions. Only the LED fitting may be under insulation; the driver must never be covered and must be mounted above any insulation covering the fixture. Loose-fill insulation such as macerated paper or wool must not be used with this fixture at all.
No — the body is aluminium and those names describe the finish applied to it. Havit’s data sheet gives the material as aluminium for every one of the six finishes on this listing.
