Nella Brass Coloured Surface Mounted Round Downlight

This is the 12 W standard body in brass-coloured aluminium — a Ø90 mm cylinder 120 mm deep. It is the middle of the four brass listings that share this title: wider and brighter than the 7 W, shorter than either extension. If a hallway of 7 W fittings is not quite carrying a living room, this is the one that does, with a visibly larger aperture to match.

Indoors only

Havit footnotes the colour row on its own data sheet: "Brass Model can only be used indoors". That is a restriction on the finish — the identical body in black or white is rated for covered outdoor use, and the brass one is not, regardless of the IP54 figure below. It is stated here because it is the one thing about this page that is easy to get wrong and expensive to discover later.

Output — and the colour setting genuinely changes it

Five switchable settings give 688 lm at 2700K, 840 lm at 3000K, 916 lm at 4000K, 931 lm at 5000K and 1,004 lm at 5700K. That is a 46% swing across the switch — far wider than the 7 W body's 20% or the 18 W's 3%. On this fitting, choosing 2700K for a warm room costs you roughly a third of the light, so set the colour first and count the fittings afterwards. The beam is 60° behind a honeycomb baffle, glare is rated UGR <10, and colour rendering is CRI >90 with SDCM <3 binning.

Two circuits on one page

The 240 V model is Protection Class 1 — the earth is landed first, per Havit's own step order — and is the Triac dimmable one. The 12 V DC model takes a constant-voltage driver, wires in parallel across multiple fittings, is Protection Class 3 with no earth at the fitting, and is specified by Havit as not dimmable. The body, the finish and the output are identical; the wiring, the earthing and the dimming answer are not.

Fixing, rating and warranty

No cut-out is required. The Ø85 mm base plate is 34 mm deep, fixes through two 9 × 4 mm slots, and the body twists onto it — so the plate can be mounted and wired before the fitting is anywhere near the ladder. The colour switch is inside the body and ships preset to 3000K. It is IP54 and IK08 with a plastic diffuser and >30,000 hrs rated life, and Havit excludes aluminium fittings from sites within 5 km of salt water. Warranty is 3 years replacement.
