This is the 7 W standard-body Nella in the brass-coloured finish — the smallest and shortest of the four brass listings, a Ø75 mm cylinder 100 mm deep. Four pages on this site share one title, so read the part number and the size in the table below rather than the heading: this is the short one, not the extension, and the 7 W one, not the 12 W.

Indoors only — and that is a Havit restriction, not a preference

The black and white versions of this identical body are rated for covered outdoor use. The brass one is not. Havit footnotes the colour row of its own data sheet with "Brass Model can only be used indoors", and that restriction attaches to the finish rather than to the fitting. It is the single most important line on this page: the IP54 rating below tells you what the body can take, and this line tells you where Havit will nonetheless not warrant it.

Output and colour

A slide switch inside the body selects 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 5000K or 5700K, measured at 499 lm, 512 lm, 558 lm, 593 lm and 601 lm. Output climbs the whole way to the coolest setting, but the total spread is only about 20%, so the choice is mostly about mood rather than brightness. The beam is 60° behind a honeycomb baffle, and the glare figure Havit publishes is UGR <10 — genuinely low for a surface-mounted fitting, which is what the baffle is for. Colour rendering is CRI >90 with SDCM <3 binning, so a brass fitting will not shift the warmth out of the timber and stone it is usually specified against.

Two supplies, and they earth differently

The page sells both. HV5841S-BR is the 240 V model — Protection Class 1, an earth is required, and Havit's own step is to land the earth first — and it is the Triac dimmable one. HV5841S-BR-12V is the 12 V DC model, needing a constant-voltage driver, wired in parallel, Protection Class 3 with no earth at the fitting, and Havit rates it not dimmable. Same body, same output, two different circuits and two different answers about dimming — so decide before ordering rather than after.

Fixing, rating and warranty

The base plate twists off anti-clockwise, fixes through two 9 × 4 mm slots on a Ø72 mm plate 28 mm deep, and needs no cut-out — only a cable hole. Set the colour switch before twisting the body home; it ships preset to 3000K. The body is IP54 and IK08 with a plastic diffuser and >30,000 hrs rated life, and Havit excludes aluminium fittings from sites within 5 km of salt water — a second reason this finish stays inland and indoors. Warranty is 3 years replacement. Lights For You lists the matching 12 W brass body and both extension lengths for larger rooms.

Questions
Can I use this outside under a covered patio?

No. Havit footnotes its own data sheet with "Brass Model can only be used indoors", so the brass finish is restricted regardless of the IP54 rating. The black and white versions of the same body are the ones to use outdoors under cover.

Is it solid brass?

No — it is powder-coated aluminium in a brass colour, which is why Havit lists the material as aluminium and applies its aluminium siting rules to it.

Which of the four brass pages is this one?

The 7 W standard body, Ø75 × 100 mm. The others are the 7 W extension at 200 mm, the 12 W standard at Ø90 × 120 mm and the 12 W extension at 240 mm.

Which version can be dimmed?

The 240 V one, HV5841S-BR, on a Triac dimmer. Havit specifies the 12 V DC model as not dimmable, so dimming there would have to be handled by a driver built for it.

Does it need an earth?

The 240 V model does — it is Protection Class 1 and Havit’s instructions have you connect the earth first. The 12 V DC model is Class 3 and needs no earth at the fitting.

Which colour setting is brightest?

5700K, at 601 lm, rising from 499 lm at 2700K. The whole spread is about 20%, so all five settings are usable without recounting the fittings.

Is there a cut-out?

None. The base plate screws to the ceiling and the body twists on, so only a cable hole is needed — which is why this fitting suits concrete, panelling and shallow linings.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
