Nella 7w LED White Adjustable

This listing sells the 7 W Nella Tilt in both finishes — HV5812T-WHT in white and HV5812T-BLK in black. It is the smallest fitting in the Nella surface-mounted family at Ø75 mm across the face by 102 mm deep, it needs no ceiling cut-out, and the lamp module inside it swings 20° so the light can be aimed after the fitting is on the ceiling.

What 20° of tilt is actually for

Twenty degrees is a modest, deliberate amount of movement. It is enough to lift a beam off the floor and onto a wall, a splashback or a run of joinery from a fitting set back a little way from it, and it is not enough to aim across a room. The beam itself is 60°, so the tilt is steering a reasonably contained cone rather than nudging a broad wash — which is the practical difference between this model and the 18 W HV5805T, whose 120° beam is fixed and points straight down. Havit prints tilt and beam angle in adjacent columns on its sheet, where they are easily read as one figure, so they are stated separately here.

IP40 — the specification most likely to be assumed wrong

This fitting is IP40. Three of the five Nella surface mounts are IP54 and this one is not, and nothing in the range name or the part number tells you which you are buying. IP40 means it resists solid objects down to 1 mm and carries no water rating at all. It is an interior fitting: a bedroom, a hallway, a retail display, a stair soffit. It is not a shower zone, not an eave, not an unlined carport, and not a bathroom position that could take splashing. If the location can get wet, the IP54 members of the family are the fittings to look at instead.

Output and colour temperature

A slide switch inside the fitting selects 3000K, 4000K or 5500K before it goes up. Havit's ordering row measures 600 lm at 3000K, 640 lm at 4000K and 605 lm at 5500K for every part number on this listing. The brightest setting is 4000K; the warm and cool ends are within five lumens of each other, so at either extreme the choice is purely about how the room should feel. Seven watts delivering 640 lm is a genuinely small fitting — sensible in a tight ceiling grid or a low ceiling where a larger head would dominate, and not a substitute for one of the higher-wattage models in a large room.

Mounting and electrical

A Ø72 mm mounting base is fixed to the ceiling and the Ø75 mm body covers it, so the fitting conceals its own fixings with very little margin — mark out carefully. It runs on 240 V AC, is Protection Class 1 so an earth is required at the fitting, and is Triac dimmable from a standard wall dimmer, with Havit's HV9625 dimmer offered to suit.

Materials, siting and warranty

Powder-coated aluminium behind a Semi Frosted Glass diffuser, IK07, CRI >80, lamp expectancy >30,000 hrs. Its own installation sheet states a condition on the fitting: "Aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5km of any salt water environments." Havit's page for these part numbers reads "Built-in 7w LED 3 Years replacement warranty (items ordered after 01/01/22)", and HV5812T_Data_Sheet_JULY23.pdf prints "Warranty 3 Years Replacement*".
