Fino Round Outdoor LED Step Light CCT 3w

Fino is a round surface-mounted step light — 110 mm across and only 23 mm proud of the surface — built to mark a level change without becoming a visible fitting in its own right. At 3 W it puts out roughly 30–33 lm through an opal polycarbonate diffuser at a 120° spread, which is wayfinding light: enough to read the edge of a tread in the dark, not enough to light the space. The real decision is whether your site already has a low-voltage circuit, because Fino is 12 V only.

The decision that matters: this is a 12 V fitting

Fino requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to 240 V — doing so destroys the fitting on the spot and is not a warranty claim. Size the driver for the combined wattage of every fitting on the run with headroom, not for one light, and keep each fitting within 25 m of its driver: past that distance Havit's warranty does not apply, and voltage drop over a long thin run shows up as uneven brightness down a stair flight.

Where it works

• External stair flights — one per second or third riser reads as a rhythm rather than a row of spots.
• Alfresco and deck perimeter walls under an eave or pergola, where IP54 is comfortably within rating.
• Path and courtyard retaining walls on an existing garden transformer run.
• Pool surround walls in sheltered positions, kept clear of direct spray.

Specifying it

Tri-colour selectable at install — 3000K, 4000K or 5500K — in black or white powder-coated aluminium. Choose one temperature and set every fitting on the flight to match; two temperatures on one stair is the most common way a good install looks wrong after dark. IP54 covers splashing and wind-driven spray in a sheltered position, so keep Fino out of spots taking sustained direct rain or coastal wash. The LED is built in: no globe is needed, none can be fitted, and there is nothing to re-lamp later. IK08 impact rating and a class III low-voltage construction, so no earth is required at the fitting. Installation by a licensed electrician.
