LED Step Lights Recessed Square in White/316

Reces is a square recessed step light with a 40° beam, offered in white, black, 316 stainless steel, antique brass and solid brass. The narrow beam is what distinguishes it from most step lights: instead of a wide wash it drops a defined pool of light onto the tread or paving below, which keeps a flight of stairs reading crisply and stops the light spilling up into anyone's eye line. Because it recesses, the finish you pick is a small square trim and not much else, so matching it to hardware is easy.

The decision that matters: this is a 12 V fitting

Every finish is 12 V DC. Reces requires a 12 V DC LED driver and must never be connected directly to 240 V, which destroys it instantly and is not covered. Havit requires each fitting to sit within 25 m of its driver; outside that the warranty does not apply. Size the driver to the whole circuit — at 2.5 W per fitting a long run is undemanding. A 300 mm tail is supplied.

Specifying it

Tri-colour selectable at install, and the product's own ordering table gives identical figures across all five SKUs: 150 lm at 3000K, 160 lm at 4000K and 155 lm at 5500K from a 2.5 W built-in LED. Pick one temperature for the whole flight. There are two cut-out sizes depending on whether you use the canister, so confirm the installation method before anything is drilled — the fitting supports both, but the hole does not change its mind afterwards. Aluminium body, IP67, IK10 for impact at ankle height, dimmable on a suitable dimmable low-voltage driver, class III so no earth is required. The LED is built in: no globe is needed and none can be fitted. Licensed electrician only.
