Madna Aluminium Black Bollard Light with Spike

The Madna is the tall one in this group, and 15 mm matters more than it sounds. At 615 mm it stands just above the 600 mm Vertex columns beside it, which is enough to lift the light source clear of low mounding and mature ground cover — the single most common reason a garden bollard stops working two seasons after it was installed. The 3 W built-in LED gives 110 lm at 3000K, 120 lm at 4000K and 115 lm at 5500K through a 120° spread, the same photometry as the Vertex, delivered from slightly higher up.

What height buys in a planted bed

A bollard lights the ground in a cone. Raise the source and the cone gets wider and softer at its edge; drop it behind a clump of liriope and it lights the clump. If you are threading a path through planting that will fill in — and most planting is chosen to — the taller column is the one that still works in year three. In open gravel or against paving the extra height gains you little, and the Ø60 mm Vertex is the cleaner-looking choice. The body here is the same aluminium with a poly powder-coated black finish, IP65 and IK08, on a 210 mm spike.

⚠ 24 V DC, and the tri-colour is wired, not switched

The Madna takes 24 V DC and must be run from a suitable 24 V DC LED driver. Much of the Havit garden range sitting next to it is 12 V DC, and mixing the two on one supply does not work in either direction. Do not connect the fitting directly to 240 V. Colour temperature is selected the same way as the rest of this platform: the neutral cables are labelled, your electrician connects the 3000K or 5500K conductor, or joins both to produce 4000K, and the joint is then soldered and heat-shrunk. It is a permanent choice made at installation, not a setting on the fitting.
