A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
This is the brightest fitting on the platform and the top of the Lindri ladder. Its 7 W built-in LED gives 430 lm at 3000K, 470 lm at 4000K and 450 lm at 5500K — around five times the 3 W Lindri and roughly double the 5 W — from a wider 150 mm head. It is the fitting to use where a shielded, low-glare bollard still has to light something properly: a wide driveway edge, a run of steps, the approach to a garage.
Unlike the 3 W and 5 W Lindri, this model is offered in a single finish — aluminium with a poly powder-coated black finish. There is no brass option to weigh up and no price fork; you are choosing an output, not a material. The head keeps the range's shielded construction, so despite putting out more than four times the light of the smallest Lindri it holds the same UGR <19 glare rating and the same downward beam. That is the argument for paying more than a plain bollard costs: you are buying light on the ground rather than light in your eyes.
The 7 W Lindri runs on 24 V DC and requires a suitable 24 V DC LED driver. A large part of the Havit garden range around it is 12 V DC, and the two cannot share a driver or a cable run — this is the single most common ordering error on the range. Do not connect the fitting directly to 240 V. Colour temperature is selected by connecting the labelled 3000K or 5500K neutral, or joining both to produce 4000K, after which the joint is soldered and sealed in heat shrink. It is a permanent choice made at installation rather than a setting you can revisit.
Lights For You would usually put one or two of these at the working end of a run and smaller fittings through the rest — tell us the job and we will suggest the mix.
It is the brightest by a wide margin: 430 to 470 lm here, against 220 to 240 lm for the 5 W and 80 to 90 lm for the 3 W. The head is wider at 150 mm and the shielded construction and UGR <19 glare rating are the same throughout the range.
No — this size is black only. The 3 W and 5 W Lindri are offered in both a powder-coated aluminium black and a solid brass antique finish, but the 7 W comes in the aluminium black alone.
No. It is 24 V DC and needs a 24 V DC LED driver. Much of the Havit garden range is 12 V DC, so if you are extending an existing installation there is a real chance the driver is the wrong one — confirm it before ordering.
Up to 25 m, with the voltage at the fitting within ±5% of its rating. Havit states that going beyond that voids the warranty, and at 7 W the volt drop along a low-voltage run is more significant than it is on the smaller fittings, so it is worth calculating properly.
Your electrician selects it during installation by connecting the labelled 3000K or 5500K neutral conductor, or joining both for 4000K. The joint is then soldered and heat-shrunk to keep the fitting watertight, so it is not a setting you can change afterwards.
No. Havit lists it as not dimmable on both its data sheet and the installation instructions, and the LED is built in rather than a replaceable globe, so there is nothing to substitute.
They should. Havit specifies CRI above 80 and SDCM under 6 for this fitting, which is the binning tolerance that keeps adjacent units from reading as different shades of white.
