A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Noray 570 is a 570 mm surface-mounted bollard in poly powder coated black aluminium, with a frosted Perspex lens and a built-in 12 W LED. This page sells two electrically different fittings and the drop-down asks you to choose between them by part number rather than by colour.
HV1638T-BLK-240V runs on 240 V AC mains. It is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth; Havit's wiring sequence is earth first, then live and neutral, and the connection is made inside an IP-rated junction box in the body. HV1638T-BLK-24V runs on 24 V DC and must be used with a suitable 24 V DC LED driver — it is Class 3 and needs no earth. These are not interchangeable after the fact. Note the voltage: this is a 24 V fitting, not 12 V, so a 12 V garden driver is the wrong supply for it.
The LED is built in. There is no lamp base, no socket and nothing to replace, so the figures below are the fitting's own rather than a lamp's. The beam is 120° — a wide, unfocused wash for a path — and colour temperature is tri-colour, selected on a switch on the underside of the top: the fitting ships set to 3000K, and you change it by loosening the allen screws on the side and lifting the top off. Output is 285 lm at 3000K, 330 lm at 4000K and 305 lm at 5500K. 4000K is the brightest setting — output does not climb with colour temperature, so do not read the coolest setting as the strongest one. Colour quality is CRI >80 with SDCM <5 binning, glare is rated UGR <12, and Havit gives a lamp expectancy of >30,000hrs. It is not dimmable.
It is IP65 and IK10 — a genuinely high impact rating, which is the argument for it in a car park or public path rather than a sheltered courtyard. It is surface mounted: the base plate must be fixed to concrete or a concrete pad and the fitting must never sit below finished ground level. Every hole including the cable entry has to be siliconed, and silicone run around the fitting at ground level — Havit voids the warranty if this is not done, and all o-rings and seals must be in place. HV1607 is Havit's optional spike if you would rather push it into soil, and HV162X-CI is its anchor-bolt set for bolting down. ⚠ One hard siting limit: Havit's instruction sheet states that aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environments, and this fitting is aluminium. That is a condition on the product, not advice.
Where several share one supply they are wired in parallel. On the 24 V version the voltage arriving at the fitting must be within ±5% of the rated figure — Havit voids the warranty outside that allowance, which is a real constraint on a long run and a reason to size the cable and driver before you dig. Installation must be by a qualified electrician to AS/NZS 3000. Lights For You publishes these figures for HV1638T-BLK from its own dated HV1638T-RND OCT22 data sheet, the shared HV1638T/HV1639T JAN23 installation instructions and Havit's own page for this model, which states 3 Years Replacement Warranty (items ordered after 01/01/22).
The low-voltage version is 24 V DC, not 12 V. That catches people out, because most low-voltage garden runs are 12 V. HV1638T-BLK-24V must be used with a suitable 24 V DC LED driver. If you would rather avoid a driver entirely, take HV1638T-BLK-240V and have it wired into mains.
No — the LED is built in. There is no lamp base and no globe, so there is nothing to unscrew and replace. Havit rates lamp expectancy at >30,000hrs. That is the trade for a fully sealed IP65 body, and it is worth knowing before you buy rather than after.
4000K, at 330 lm. The full set is 285 lm at 3000K, 330 lm at 4000K and 305 lm at 5500K — so output rises to 4000K and then falls again. It does not climb with colour temperature, which is the opposite of what most people assume.
Loosen the allen screws on the side of the fitting, lift the top off, and move the switch on the underside of the top to 3000K, 4000K or 5500K. It ships set to 3000K. Make sure the seals are back in place when you refit the top, or you lose the IP rating and the warranty with it.
No. Every Havit source naming this model states Dimmable: No, and with a built-in LED there is no globe to substitute for a dimmable one. If you see dimming options listed elsewhere on our site they belong to our LED strip and driver ranges, not to this fitting.
The 240 V AC version does — it is Protection Class 1, and Havit's sequence is earth first, then live and neutral. The 24 V DC version is Class 3 and requires no earth.
Havit's own instruction sheet is explicit, and it rules this out: aluminium and 304SS fittings must not be installed within 5 km of any salt water environments. This bollard is aluminium, so that clause applies to it directly. It is a warranty condition rather than a suggestion, and if you are inside that distance you want a 316 stainless fitting instead.
