A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Maxi 900 is a 900 mm surface-mounted bollard in 316 stainless steel, finished in poly powder coated black, with a frosted diffuser running the head. This page sells two electrically different fittings at one price, and the drop-down asks you to choose between them by part number rather than by colour.
HV1608T-BLK-240V runs on 240 V AC mains and takes a 9 W E27 globe, giving 700 lm / 720 lm / 740 lm. It is Protection Class 1 and requires an earth — Havit's own sequence is earth first, then live and neutral. HV1608T-BLK-12V runs on 12 V DC from a suitable 12 V DC LED driver, takes a 5 W MR16 globe and gives 270 lm / 285 lm / 300 lm. It is Class 3 and needs no earth. Do not connect the 12 V fitting directly to 240 V. The two are not interchangeable after the fact, because the lamp holder itself differs.
Havit's low-voltage clause is a warranty condition, not advice: the voltage arriving at the fitting must be within ±5% of the rated figure, and the fitting must sit no more than 25 m from its LED driver. Both are easy to breach on a long garden run, and both are reasons to size the driver and the cable before you dig. Where several fittings share one driver they are wired in parallel. Havit lists its HV9507 and HV9508 tri-colour MR16 LED drivers against this range.
Both versions take a replaceable globe, so the light is only as good as the lamp in it. Colour temperature is tri-colour — 3000K, 4000K or 5500K — and it is set on the globe itself: the cover twists off anti-clockwise and the switch is on the side of the globe. The supplied globes are 120°, but a replacement sets its own beam, so check the beam angle of anything you buy. The ceiling matters: Havit gives a maximum globe wattage of 15 W, LED globes only. That is a hard limit on a sealed fitting and it rules out an incandescent or halogen lamp of any wattage. Neither version is dimmable with the globes supplied.
It is surface mounted: 900 mm tall, Ø102 mm, on a Ø98 mm base plate with four Ø6 mm fixing holes and a Ø16 mm cable entry. That plate must go onto concrete or a concrete pad, and the fitting must never sit below finished ground level. Every hole including the cable entry is siliconed, and silicone is run around the fitting at ground level — Havit voids the warranty if this is not done. All o-rings and seals must be in place. HV1607 is Havit's optional spike if you would rather push it into soil than bolt it down. The body is 316 stainless, so it still needs regular cleaning maintenance; tea staining is not covered by warranty. Lights For You publishes these figures for HV1608T-BLK from the HV1608 APR24 data sheet, Havit's 12 V and 240 V installation instructions and the supplier's own page for each of its two part numbers, with Havit's 3 Years Replacement warranty on items ordered after 01/01/22.
If the bollard is being wired into mains by an electrician on a normal outdoor circuit, take HV1608T-BLK-240V — it needs no driver and no transformer, and it must be earthed. If you are running a low-voltage garden system, or the bollard is one of several on a single driver, take HV1608T-BLK-12V. The 12 V version is the one bound by the ±5% supply tolerance and the 25 m driver distance.
The 240 V version takes a 9 W E27 and the 12 V version a 5 W MR16. You can replace either, but Havit caps the fitting at a maximum globe wattage of 15 W and LED globes only. There is headroom above the supplied lamp, and no headroom at all for a halogen or incandescent.
It is on the globe, not on the fitting. The cover twists off anti-clockwise and there is a switch on the side of the globe for 3000K, 4000K or 5500K. It ships set to 3000K.
Not with the globes supplied — Havit states Dimmable: No — not with supplied globes. The wording matters: the obstacle is the lamp rather than the fitting, so the honest answer is that Havit does not warrant dimming on this fitting as sold, and we are not going to promise it will work with a dimmable globe substituted.
The 240 V version does — it is Protection Class 1 and Havit's wiring step is earth first, then live and neutral. The 12 V DC version is Class 3 and requires no earth.
Only with Havit's HV1607 optional spike. As supplied it is surface mounted, and the base plate must be fixed to concrete or a concrete pad. Havit is explicit that the fitting must not be installed below finished ground level, and that every hole must be siliconed — both are warranty conditions.
3 Years Replacement on items ordered after 01/01/2022. The finish does not change it, but the material obligation still applies: the body underneath is 316 stainless steel and needs regular cleaning maintenance, and tea staining is not covered.
