Favara Black Polycarbonate Bollard Light - 670mm

The Favara is a 670 mm bollard moulded in black polycarbonate, not metal, with an opal polycarbonate diffuser and a replaceable E27 globe. That one material choice decides most of what follows — including the thing that usually rules a bollard out of a beachside garden.

Havit calls it suitable for coastal installation

✅ Havit's own listing for this model describes it as suitable for coastal installation. That is unusual in this range: the metal bollards beside it carry a restriction saying aluminium and 304SS fittings must be kept well back from salt water, and a polycarbonate body simply is not exposed to that problem. If you are lighting a path near the sea, this is the shape of fitting to be looking at.

240 V mains, and no earth required

It runs on 240 V AC mains and is Protection Class 2, which Havit records as no earth required — double-insulated rather than earthed. Most of the bollards beside it in this range are earthed fittings, so do not assume the wiring is the same as the one next to it on the shelf.

A 9 W globe in a 20 W holder — there is room to move

It ships with a 9 W tri-colour E27 LED globe giving 3000K, 4000K and 5500K, and Havit rates the holder to a maximum of 20 W. ✅ That is real headroom: a brighter replacement is genuinely an option here, which is not true of every E27 bollard in this range — several of them cap at exactly the wattage they ship with. ⚠ The colour selection belongs to the globe, so an ordinary E27 replacement will light the fitting and will not offer the three temperatures.

Output, and what the figures actually describe

Havit pairs the figures as 700 lm at 3000K, 720 lm at 4000K and 740 lm at 5500K, so on this globe the output does rise with colour temperature. The spread is 180°, colour rendering is CRI >80, and lamp expectancy is >30,000hrs. All of those describe the globe supplied rather than the body, so anything you fit later sets its own output and its own spread. The fitting is not dimmable.

IP65 and IK04 — check the second number before you site it

The body is IP65, which is a proper weather rating. ⚠ The number to look at is IK04, which sits near the bottom of the IK01–IK10 impact scale — low for something standing at shin height beside a mower, a wheelbarrow or a football. Set it back from the mowing line rather than in it.
