RIAS 40 CTC

The Rias CTC40 is a ø400 mm crystal and stainless steel ceiling fitting — 30 W producing 3,000 lm, three colour temperatures, dimmable by Bluetooth remote — in gold or chrome.

What remote dimming actually buys you

Two things a wall dimmer cannot. You can put it in a room with no dimmer circuit — a rental, an older house, a retrofit — without running any new cable. And you can adjust it from where you are sitting rather than from the doorway. The trade is a handset to keep track of.

Colour temperature from the remote too

3300 K, 4200 K or 6500 K — and note these are not the usual 3000/4000/5000. The warm setting is slightly cooler than standard warm white, and the cool setting is a genuine 6500 K daylight, cooler than most. Worth knowing if you are matching it to other fittings in the same room.

Crystal on stainless steel — and 3,000 lumens

Decorative crystal fittings usually trade light for glitter. The Rias gives 3,000 lm, which is enough to carry a bedroom, a dining room or an entry on its own — so you get the sparkle without needing a second fitting to actually see by. Stainless steel rather than plated iron means the frame will not pit or discolour.

Close to ceiling, and only 76 mm deep

Nearly half a metre across but sitting 76 mm off the ceiling, on a ø385 mm canopy. That is the whole case for a CTC over a pendant: the presence of a chandelier in a room that cannot take one.

It is heavy — 5 kg

Crystal and steel. Mention it to your electrician: this wants a proper fixing, not a plasterboard anchor. No assembly required — it arrives built.

Rias is made in several circular sizes, as both pendants and close-to-ceiling fittings, in gold and chrome. A pendant over the table with CTCs in the bedrooms reads as one scheme.
