The Mazal WB is a 420 mm cast gypsum wall light in terracotta, black, grey or white — two E14 globes to 25 W each, not supplied, projecting 75 mm.
It is cast from gypsum — and our record did not say so. The material field was empty, on a fitting where the material is the entire idea.
Gypsum is plaster, cast in a mould rather than pressed or machined, and that has consequences nothing else in this catalogue shares:
Thinking of painting it to match your wall exactly? Gypsum fittings are often specified for that reason. Ask us first — we will confirm with Telbix whether the finish is intended to be overpainted, because doing so is unlikely to be covered by the warranty if it is not.
Two E14 to 25 W each — 50 W total, not supplied. E14 is the small screw base, SES — a candle or golf-ball globe.
⚠ Every one of our sources said this fitting does not dim. The datasheet, our record and the old page all said “No”.
That cannot be right. The Mazal is a plaster body holding two ordinary E14 lamp holders. There is no driver, no electronics and nothing between the globe and the mains — so whether it dims depends entirely on the globes you fit, exactly as it does on every other E14 fitting in this catalogue. Fit two dimmable LEDs and use a wall dimmer.
And on this fitting it is worth doing. An up-and-down wall light throws two soft triangles of light on the wall, and on a plaster surface, dimmed low, that is a genuinely beautiful effect — the plaster picks up the grazing light and shows its own texture. Buy the two globes together, same brand, and let us match them to your dimmer.
Because the globes sit inside the body, brightness and warmth are the only decisions. Use warm 2700 K — against terracotta especially, cool white kills the warmth entirely.
A tall slim vertical with a very shallow projection. At 75 mm the Mazal is among the flattest wall lights in this catalogue — the Brevan projects 140 mm, the Virell 170, the Pedral 280 — so it works in hallways, stairwells and narrow passages where a deeper fitting is something you brush against.
At 1.6 kg it is heavier than it looks, because plaster is dense: more than the 0.36 kg Mosari and twice the 0.8 kg Brevan. It still fixes to plasterboard, but use a proper anchor rather than a plug, and tell your electrician the figure.
⚠ Gypsum and moisture do not mix. It is IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, and unlike a metal fitting the material itself is porous: a bathroom or a steamy laundry is not just outside its rating, it is bad for the plaster. Keep it dry, and dust it with a soft dry brush rather than a damp cloth. Class I — earth required, hard-wired.
140 mm wide by 420 mm high, projection 75 mm, 1.6 kg, in cast GYPSUM, in terracotta, black, grey or white. Two E14 (SES) globes to 25 W each — 50 W total, NOT supplied; dimming is globe dependent, whatever our records said. 240 V, Class I — earth required, IP20 — indoor and dry locations only, and the plaster is porous. Warranty is three years, as a replacement warranty.

It is plaster, cast in a mould. That gives it the same matt, slightly chalky surface as a painted plasterboard wall, so the fitting merges into the plane where a metal one sits proud of it. It has no sheen, so it never catches a highlight from another light in the room, and its cast edges are soft rather than crisp — which is what gives it its Mediterranean, hand-made character. Our record carried no material at all.
Yes, with dimmable globes — despite every one of our sources saying “No”. The Mazal is a plaster body holding two ordinary E14 holders, with no driver and nothing between the globe and the mains, so dimming depends entirely on the globes. It is worth doing: an up-and-down light throws two soft triangles onto the wall, and dimmed low against plaster the grazing light shows the material’s own texture.

75 mm — among the flattest wall lights in this catalogue, where the Brevan projects 140 mm, the Virell 170 and the Pedral 280. That makes it usable in a hallway, stairwell or narrow passage where a deeper fitting is something you brush against.
White becomes almost invisible on a white wall until it is lit, which is the most interesting way to use it. Grey reads as a shadow on a light wall. Terracotta suits Mediterranean and earthy palettes — limewash, clay plaster, natural timber. Black is the opposite decision: a deliberate graphic mark on a pale wall.
