Domus BF-8235 Raw Ceramic Interior Wall Light

The Domus BF-8235 is a 310 mm raw ceramic wall light, 90 mm high with a 120 mm projection, taking one E27 lamp and supplied unpainted.

⚠ Its name says “two-way”. No Domus source says so.

This product’s web address contains “two-way”. Its datasheet does not — the prose reads only “Raw ceramic wall light.”

• ⭐ We know Domus states it when it is true. The BF-2607B and BF-2608B sheets say in as many words that light emits upwards and downwards through an opening in the bottom of the fitting. This sheet says nothing of the kind.
• ⚠ So we are not going to promise you a downward wash. It may well emit both ways — the name had to come from somewhere — but a product name is a claim, not a specification.
• ✅ What we can say is that it is an open ceramic shell with an E27 holder, in the same family as fittings that do emit both ways.
• ⭐ Ask us before you order and we will look at a physical fitting. If the two-way wash is the reason you are buying it, that is worth two minutes.

⛔ Two sources give two different maximum wattages

• The datasheet says 60 W. Our record says 20 W.
• ⭐ 11 of the 12 E27 raw ceramics in this range carry the same conflict; the exception is the BF-2440, whose sheet genuinely reads “20 W CFL”. That one real figure looks like the source of the rest.
• ✅ We work to the datasheet’s 60 W; an E27 LED at 8–10 W sits under both.

What raw ceramic means

• ✅ Unfinished on arrival, painted by you — any water-based paint, the wall’s own included.
• ⚠ Porous until painted, so it marks.
• ⚠ Indoor, dry areas only.
• ✅ Made in Italy, body-coloured throughout.

Choosing the lamp — not supplied

• ✅ E27 LED, 8–10 W, 2700–3000 K, enclosed-rated.
• ⚠ Check it fits the cavity — a compact globe over a long candle.
• ✅ CRI ≥90 if the wall is a colour.
• ⛔ E27, not E14.

Where it works

• A hallway or living-room wall — 310 mm is a comfortable width that suits most walls without dominating.
• Repeated along a corridor, where the 120 mm projection stays reasonably clear.
• ⚠ If a downward wash is the point, confirm it with us first — the BF-2607B is the fitting we can state that of.
• ⚠ Not on a poorly finished wall.
