3w MR11 12v DC LED Globe

This is a replacement LED globe - the lamp itself rather than a fitting. It goes into a fitting you already have.

The reason to change one is usually not that the old one failed. A globe sets the colour and the quality of the light in every fitting it sits in, so replacing globes is the cheapest way to change how a whole room feels: the same fittings with a warmer colour temperature read as a different room.

⚠ Check the base type and the voltage before ordering. A globe that does not match the fitting either will not fit or will not last, and low-voltage globes need the right transformer behind them.

Light output and colour

It draws 3W, producing 300lm.

Powering and installing it

This is a 12V fitting, so it runs from a driver rather than directly from mains. Size the driver to the total load of every fitting on the run, with room to spare - a driver working at its limit runs hot, and heat is what shortens its life.

Low voltage is the usual choice in a garden because the cable is safer to run and easier to extend later. The trade is voltage drop: a long run gets dimmer towards its far end, and the answer is a shorter cable path or a heavier cable rather than a bigger driver.

It uses a MR11 base. ⚠ Check that against the fitting you are putting it into before ordering.

Plan the cable route before anything is fixed. It is the part of an installation that cannot be changed afterwards without undoing the rest of it, and it is the reason otherwise finished jobs get left half done.

Before you order

Two checks save most of the problems that show up after an installation is finished. The first is where the fitting will actually be seen from: a light chosen for how it looks in a product photograph is being judged from a viewpoint nobody will ever stand in, and the same fitting can be discreet from the house and glaring from the street.

The second is what else is going in around it. A single fitting is rarely the whole scheme, and matching colour temperature and finish across everything in a space matters more to the result than the specification of any one item in it. Mixed colour temperatures in particular read as a fault rather than as a choice.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
