A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus ZOOM-PRO 5 W is a low-voltage garden spike light with a hood — 12 V or 24 V DC, IP67, 360 lm, a 40° beam, a 150° tilting head and push-button colour switching.
⚠ Two things to know before you order.
Most switchable fittings hide the selector inside the housing, so the colour is chosen once, at installation, by whoever is holding the fitting. The ZOOM-PRO has a button on the fitting: press it to cycle 3000 K → 4000 K → 5000 K.
That means you can walk the garden after dark and change your mind — which is the only sensible way to make this decision, because a colour that looks right on a bench looks different against planting.
It comes with a cover cap, and using it changes the fitting:
A 40° beam is a narrow, deliberate spread — for uplighting a tree trunk, a wall panel or a feature. It is not a path light; for that ask us about the wider bollards and spikes.
IP67 — dust tight and protected against temporary immersion, which is what a spike in a garden bed needs: sprinklers, heavy rain and a bed that puddles are all within rating. It comes with a 3 m round rubberised cable and a water stopper at the head, which is the joint most likely to let moisture in.
5 W, 360 lm, CRI above 80, COB, 30,000 hours, 238 mm tall, black powder-coated frame. It does not dim. Warranty 3 years.
238 mm tall, black powder-coated frame, 150° tilting head, supplied with a hood and a 3 m rubberised cable with water stopper. 5 W COB LED giving 320 / 360 / 360 lm at 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, switched by a BUTTON on the fitting; CRI >80, 40° beam, 30,000 hrs, not dimmable. ⚠ 12 V / 24 V DC — a driver is REQUIRED and is NOT supplied. IP67 — dust tight, temporary immersion. Warranty 3 years.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No. It runs on 12 V or 24 V DC and the driver is not included. You need a low-voltage driver sized for the whole run — tell us how many you are fitting and we will size it with you. The Domus DRIVER-12V-IP67 range is what most of these installations use.
Five. The manufacturer’s description elsewhere refers to a 12 W chip, but that is the larger ZOOM-PRO — the title, the product record, the SKU and the datasheet all agree this one is 5 W, giving 360 lumens.
Press the button on the fitting to cycle 3000, 4000 and 5000 K. That is better than the dip switches most fittings use, because you can walk the garden after dark and change your mind — a colour that looks right on a bench looks different against planting.
3000 K warm for timber, stone, brick and warm render, and it is the usual right answer. 4000 K makes green foliage read greener, so it suits uplighting trees and hedges. 5000 K is sharp on modern grey and white render and concrete, and cold on anything warm.
Shielding the source. With it you see the lit surface rather than the fitting, which is what you want whenever the light points near a window, a seating area or a path. Without it you get more light out and a visible source — fine when the fitting is buried in planting and aimed away from you.
300 to 600 mm out from the trunk, aimed up into the canopy. Closer gives a hot spot on the bark; further and you light the lawn. For grazing a wall, place it within about 150 mm and aim steeply up so the light rakes across the surface and brings out the texture.
Yes — IP67 is dust tight and protected against temporary immersion, so sprinklers, heavy rain and a bed that puddles are all within rating. It comes with a 3-metre rubberised cable and a water stopper at the head, which is the joint most likely to let moisture in.
