A G9 LED capsule — 3 W producing 350 lm on a full 360° beam, in a body just 16.5 × 50 mm — in warm, natural or cool white.

You can change this one yourself. It is a globe. The old page carried a line saying it “must be installed by a licensed electrician” and another excluding globes from its own warranty — boilerplate that belonged to a light fitting, not to this.

360°, which is what a G9 fitting needs

G9 capsules sit inside chandeliers, wall lights and multi-arm pendants where the globe is surrounded by glass and seen from every side. A directional lamp leaves dark patches in the shade above it. A full 360° beam lights the whole shade evenly, which is exactly what those fittings were designed around.

350 lumens from 3 watts

117 lumens per watt. A traditional G9 halogen drew 25–40 W for similar light and ran hot enough to discolour a shade. On a six-arm chandelier that is a saving of well over a hundred watts, and a great deal less heat in the glass.

Three colour temperatures, and they must match

3000 K warm, 4000 K natural or 5000 K cool — chosen by order code, not switchable. Buy every globe for one fitting in the same code and the same order: across six arms of a chandelier, one globe of a different white is the only thing anyone will look at.

Non-dimmable — check before you buy

Stated plainly because it is the commonest mistake with LED capsules: these will not dim. On a dimmer circuit they flicker, buzz or fail early. If your chandelier is on a dimmer, tell us and we will supply the dimmable version instead.

Tiny, so it disappears

16.5 mm wide, 50 mm high, 10 grams. Small enough to vanish inside a clear glass shade, which is what a G9 fitting assumes.

Do I need an electrician to fit it?

Please do not. Across six arms of a chandelier, one globe of a different white is the only thing anyone will look at. Buy them all in one order.

Will it fit inside a small shade?

Almost certainly — 16.5 mm wide and 50 mm high, which is what a G9 fitting assumes.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

  • Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
