The Domus BLAZE-PRO-50 is a mains power-selectable LED floodlight in black or white — 20 W, 30 W or 50 W by switch, up to 5,360 lumens, IP66, with a 1.5 m flex and plug.

✅ You do not have to get the specification right before you buy. Put it up, look at the result at night, and change it. ⚠ Our own record holds no wattage at all for this product, so set it deliberately rather than leaving it wherever it arrived.

✅ A flex and plug — which makes this the DIY floodlight

It comes with a 1.5 metre flex and plug. Where a suitable outdoor socket exists, that means no electrician and no hard-wiring — you mount it and plug it in.

  • ✅ Ideal for a carport, a shed, a workshop or a temporary position, and for renters.
  • ⚠ The socket must be suitably rated and protected for outdoor use. If there is no socket, this becomes an electrician's job like any other fitting.
  • ⚠ 1.5 metres is not much cable. Plan the position around the socket, and do not run it on an extension lead permanently.
Which setting for which job
  • 20 W (2,360 lm) — a doorway, a small yard, a shed wall.
  • 30 W (3,230 lm) — a driveway or a carport.
  • 50 W (5,060 lm) — a whole back yard, a work area, a hardstand.

⚠ 5,000 lumens is a lot of light. With a 120° beam it spreads widely, so aim it down, not out, and look at what it does from a neighbour's boundary before you leave it.

⚠ CRI ≥70 — being honest about it

Colour rendering here is 70 or above, which is low. Elsewhere in this catalogue there are CRI 90 fittings, and the difference is visible: colours under a CRI 70 source look flat and slightly grey.

  • ✅ For its actual job that is fine — lighting a yard or a hardstand so you can see, move and be safe.
  • ⚠ Not the fitting for a garden or anywhere colour matters. Ask us about the CRI 90 MURO spotlights instead.
  • ⚠ For security camera coverage, recorded colour will be poor — a higher-CRI fitting makes footage genuinely more useful.
✅ The features that separate it from a cheap floodlight
  • Anti-condensation breathing valve — the commonest way a floodlight dies is condensation behind the lens as it heats and cools daily. The valve lets the housing breathe without letting water in, which on an outdoor fitting is the difference between five years and one.
  • 4.5 kV surge protection — floodlights sit on exposed circuits, and a nearby strike or switching surge is what kills them.
  • DOB — driver on board, so no separate box to mount or fail.
  • Frosted glass lens, softening the glare a clear lens would give at 5,000 lm.
  • Sensor adaptor interface — a sensor can be added. ⚠ It is a separate part; ask us.

IP66 — dust tight and protected against powerful water jets, a step above IP65 and the right rating for a fully exposed position including washdown areas. 180 × 152 mm, 26 mm deep. It does not dim. 20,000 hours — ⚠ shorter than the 50,000 most Domus LEDs claim, which is normal for a high-output floodlight running hot. Warranty 3 years.

Can I install it myself?

Where a suitable outdoor socket exists, yes — it comes with a 1.5-metre flex and plug, so you mount it and plug it in with no hard-wiring. The socket must be suitably rated and protected for outdoor use, and 1.5 metres is not much cable, so plan the position around the socket rather than running it permanently on an extension lead. With no socket, it becomes an electrician’s job like any other fitting.

Which wattage should I choose?

You can change your mind after installing — a switch on the fitting sets it. As a guide: 20 W (2,360lm) for a doorway, small yard or shed wall; 30 W (3,230lm) for a driveway or carport; 50 W (5,060lm) for a whole back yard, work area or hardstand. Our record holds no wattage at all for this product, so set it deliberately rather than leaving it wherever it arrived.

Is CRI 70 a problem?

It depends what you are lighting. For a yard or hardstand — seeing, moving, being safe — it is fine. For a garden or anywhere colour matters it is not: colours under a CRI 70 source look flat and slightly grey, and this catalogue has CRI 90 MURO spotlights for that. If it is going up for security camera coverage, recorded colour will be poor.

What is the breathing valve for?

The commonest way a floodlight dies is condensation forming behind the lens as it heats and cools each day. The valve lets the housing breathe without letting water in — on an outdoor fitting that is the difference between five years and one.

Does it come with a sensor?

No — it has a sensor adaptor interface so one can be added, but the sensor is a separate part. Ask us and we will quote them together.

Will it annoy the neighbours?

It can. Five thousand lumens through a 120° beam spreads widely, so aim it down rather than out and look at what it does from a neighbour’s boundary before you leave it.

Why only 20,000 hours?

That is normal for a high-output floodlight — it runs hot, and heat shortens LED life. It is an honest figure rather than a worse product.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
