The Domus TURIN LARGE post top is a post-top exterior lantern — 575 mm high, 80 mm base, B22, 240 V, IP43, in five colours.
⭐ The supply runs up the post and into the lantern. ⭐⭐ LEAVE ENOUGH SLACK AT THE JOINT TO MAKE THE CONNECTION COMFORTABLY, and dress the cable so it is not pinched as the lantern is threaded home — ⭐ a cable trapped in a thread is a fault that appears months later, when vibration has worn through the insulation. ⭐ Check the cable entry is protected against the aluminium edge and that any grommet is seated before final assembly. ⚠ On an existing post, confirm the cable in it is sound and correctly rated before fitting a new lantern — an old post often has old cable. ⚠ This is an electrician's job.
⭐ The lamp is not included. ⭐⭐ A POST-TOP LANTERN IS SEEN FROM EVERY DIRECTION — from the road, the drive, the footpath and from inside the property — which makes the lamp choice more visible than on any wall arrangement. ⭐ A clear or filament lamp is a bright point at the entrance, glary from a car and from the footpath. ⭐ An opal B22 fills the lantern and reads as a glowing object; a globe shape sized to fill the body works better than a compact lamp sitting low. ⭐ Warm rather than cool.
⭐ Bracket reference GT-481, and the LARGE offers only one complete post height. ⭐ Decide the largest arrangement the property needs first, then pick the family. ⚠ Do not mix the two sizes — a Large lantern beside a standard one reads as a mistake rather than a hierarchy.
Allow up to 10 business days for production. ⭐ Five colours applied to order.

Post-top exterior lantern, LARGE. 575 mm high, 80 mm base. B22, lamp not included. 220–240 V. IP43. Die-cast aluminium with moulded acrylic lens. Five colours. Bracket reference GT-481. Made to order, up to 10 business days. 1-year warranty. ⭐⭐ ITS 80 mm BASE IS THE WHOLE POINT: it goes on a column you already own, or one fabricated to suit, instead of committing you to the range's complete post — so a gate pier with a column already set, a heritage post whose lantern has failed, or a fence post that carries a light can all take a new lantern without groundwork. ⚠ THE THREAD AND THE POST'S OUTSIDE DIAMETER ARE WHAT HAVE TO MATCH, and neither can be judged from a photograph: measure the post at its top and send us the figure with a photo of the existing joint. ⭐ AND DO THE ARITHMETIC — the finished height is your post plus 575 mm, which reads generous on a 1.2 m pier and small on anything over 2.5 m.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Going on a column you already own. The 80mm base is a standard post diameter rather than a proprietary fitting, so instead of committing you to the range's complete post it fits a gate pier with a column already set, a heritage post whose lantern has failed, or a fence post that carries a light — all without groundwork.
The thread and the post's outside diameter are what have to match, and neither can be judged from a photograph. Measure the post at its top and send us the figure with a photo of the existing joint. A post-top adaptor may be needed, and it is the component most often left off an order.
Your post plus 575mm, and that arithmetic is worth doing before ordering. A 1.2m pier plus this lantern reads at about 1.8m — below the range's own 2.4m post and a different proportion entirely. On a tall existing post it can overshoot: a 2.4m column plus a 575mm lantern is nearly 3m, which on a domestic frontage is a street-lighting scale.
A 575mm lantern reads as generous on a 1.2m pier, balanced on a 1.8m one, and small on anything over 2.5m. Proportion is the test rather than fit alone.
Completely. There is no eave, no wall and nothing around it to break the wind, so wind-driven rain reaches it from every direction and the lantern's own body is its only shelter. IP43 covers spraying water to 60 degrees from vertical, not driving rain or sprinklers. Seal the joint to the post properly at installation — water sitting where the lantern meets the column is what corrodes the fixing, and it is the point nobody inspects.
The cable. Confirm the cable in it is sound and correctly rated before fitting a new lantern — an old post often has old cable. Leave enough slack at the joint to make the connection comfortably, and dress the cable so it is not pinched as the lantern is threaded home: a cable trapped in a thread is a fault that appears months later, when vibration has worn through the insulation. This is an electrician's job.
