DOMUS GT-544 Siena Sphere Wall Light

The Domus GT-544 Siena is a Ø200 mm sphere wall light in aluminium — IP43, taking one E27 globe, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the five finishes. The body is powder-coated in the colour you choose after you order, which is why the range offers Beige, Black, Burgundy, Green and White rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⚠ IP43 — read this before you specify it outdoors

IP43 protects against solid objects over 1 mm and against spraying water down to 60° from vertical. That is a lower rating than most outdoor wall lights, which are IP44 or IP65, and the difference is not academic:

• ✅ Suitable under an eave, in a porch, on a covered verandah, or on a wall that is sheltered from prevailing weather.
• ⚠ Not suitable on an exposed wall in driving rain, where water arrives horizontally rather than from above. That is outside 60°.
• ⛔ Not for hosing down, coastal spray or anywhere water pools.

If the position is exposed, ask us for an IP44 or IP65 alternative — there are several in this catalogue, and it is a much cheaper conversation now than a failed fitting later.

What a sphere does on a wall

Most outdoor wall lights are directional — up, down, or both. A sphere is not:

• The whole surface glows, so it lights outward in every direction and reads as an object rather than a source. It is decorative first.
• It softly lifts the wall around it rather than throwing a defined beam, so it is good for presence and a welcoming look, and poor for lighting a step or a lock.
• ⚠ It spills upward. If neighbours are close or you care about a dark sky, a shielded fitting is the better neighbour.

✅ Its natural use is a pair either side of a door or a gate, where symmetry does the work.

Five finishes, including one nothing else here offers

• Black — the safe modern choice; the sphere reads as a dark object by day.
• White and beige — traditional, and they stay visible by day.
• Green — recedes into planting.
• ✅ Burgundy — genuinely unusual. Nothing else in this catalogue offers it, and against red brick or a heritage palette it is a considered choice rather than a default.

Choosing the globe

One E27, not supplied. On a diffusing sphere the globe decides the result:

• Warm 2700–3000 K — cool white on a house entry reads as institutional.
• Opal or frosted, not a clear filament — a clear globe shows as a hot spot through the diffuser.
• Moderate output, around 600–800 lm. A sphere has nothing shielding it, so a very bright globe becomes something you squint at.
• ⚠ Rated for enclosed fixtures, or it will run hot and fail early.

• Porches, eaves, covered verandahs and sheltered walls.
• Either side of a door or gate, as a pair.
• Pillar and pier tops, with the GT-503/504 mount.
• ⛔ IP43 — not for exposed walls in driving rain, hosing or coastal spray.
• ⚠ Bracket and globe both sold separately.

Ø200 mm sphere, 220 mm high, 280 mm overall, aluminium, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white. ⚠ Requires a GT-502 wall bracket, or a GT-503 / GT-504 180 mm pillar mount — not included. One E27 globe, NOT supplied — warm 2700–3000 K opal, around 600–800 lm, enclosed-fixture rated. 220–240 V AC, IP43 — spraying water to 60° from vertical only; sheltered positions. Warranty 1 year.
