Domus SHADOW 2LT ADJ 240V GU10 TRIO

The Domus SHADOW 2LT ADJ is a two-light adjustable exterior wall light — 240 V GU10, IP65, 90° tilt and 270° swivel per head, in brass.

⭐ The datasheet reads “Lamp (Included): KEY-GU10-TRIO (240V) KEY-MR16-TRIO (12V)” and this listing is the 240 V version — ⭐ so the GU10 half applies and the record's bulb_type = GU10 matches it exactly. ⭐ Across this family that is worth noting, because the one-light sheets name GU10 on products that are MR16. ⭐ Here there is nothing to reconcile: 240 V, GU10, tricolour lamps included.

⭐ 240 V is the simpler installation, and on two heads that matters more

• ⭐ No driver, no low-voltage cable sizing, no box to house and keep dry. ⭐ The fitting takes mains directly.
• ⭐⭐ THE COMPARISON WITH THE 12 V VERSION IS A REAL DECISION, NOT A DEFAULT.
  • ⭐ ONE OR TWO FITTINGS: take 240 V. ⭐ The driver, its housing and the cable sizing are all overhead you avoid entirely.
  • ⭐ A RUN OF FIVE OR MORE ALONG A FACADE: take 12 V. ⭐ One driver serves them all, mains stays out of the wall, and the per-fitting wiring is simpler.
• ⭐ At two heads and 2 × 35 W maximum, a 240 V fitting is also comfortably within what a normal lighting circuit carries — ⭐ the GU10 tricolour lamps supplied draw around 5 to 10 W each in practice.

⭐ Brass, and what it will do

• ⭐ This listing is brass only. ⭐ Brass is a solid metal finish, not a coating — ⭐ so there is no film to chip and nothing to corrode from a chip outward.
• ⭐⭐ IT WILL PATINA, AND THAT IS THE POINT. ⭐ Bright when new, moving through soft brown-gold and eventually darker. ⭐ Near the coast it moves faster; under an eave it moves slower.
• ⚠ THE THING TO BE CERTAIN ABOUT: if the scheme wants a finish that looks the same on year five as on day one, brass is the wrong choice and powder-coated black or white is the honest answer. ⭐ Patination is not covered by any warranty, because it is not a fault.
• ⭐ If several are mounted along a facade, put them in comparable exposure — ⭐ a sheltered one and an exposed one will visibly diverge within a couple of years.

⭐ Two adjustable heads on a facade — how to actually use them

• ⭐ THE DEFAULT IS UP AND DOWN, and it is the default for a reason — ⭐ a symmetrical column of light reads as deliberate from any angle.
• ⭐ BUT BOTH HEADS SWIVEL 270°, so the fitting can also throw both ways ALONG a wall — ⭐ which on a long low facade covers far more surface from one point than an up/down arrangement does.
• ⭐ OR SPLIT THEM: one grazing the wall, one aimed at a tree or a gate. ⭐ That is where two adjustable heads earn their price over a fixed up/down fitting.
• ⚠ AIM AT DUSK AND CHECK FROM THE BOUNDARY. ⭐ A head swivelled sideways is the easiest way to put light into a neighbour's window without noticing.

⭐ Tricolour lamps — set both heads together

⭐ Both included lamps switch across three colour temperatures. ⚠ On a two-head fitting the heads are inches apart, so a mismatch is unmissable. ⭐ Set both at commissioning and re-check after any lamp replacement — ⭐ a replacement defaulting to a different setting is how this goes wrong months later. ⭐ Outdoors, warm flatters brick and planting; cooler gives definition on render and better camera clarity at night.
