Domus SHADOW 2LT ADJ 12V MR16 TRIO

The Domus SHADOW 2LT ADJ is a two-light adjustable exterior wall light — 12 V MR16, IP65, 90° tilt and 270° swivel on each head, in seven finishes.

⭐⭐ This sheet gets the lamp base right, and it explains why its siblings do not

• ⭐ This datasheet reads: “Lamp (Included): KEY-GU10-TRIO (240V) KEY-MR16-TRIO (12V)” — ⭐ naming both lamps and mapping each to its supply voltage. ⭐ That is correct and complete.
• ⚠ The one-light sheets in the same family name GU10 only, on products that are MR16.
• ⭐⭐ WE MEASURED THE SPLIT AND IT IS CLEAN:

• ⭐ SO THE TWO-LIGHT SHEET IS A LATER REVISION. ⭐ When Domus added the 12 V option to this family, the two-light documents were updated and the one-light documents were not.
• ⭐⭐ THAT IS A STALE DOCUMENT RATHER THAN A WRONG ONE — ⭐ a distinction that matters, because it has a specific fix: reissue the one-light sheets from this template.
• ⭐ FOR THIS PRODUCT IT MEANS THE SHEET CAN BE READ AS PUBLISHED. ⭐ It is 12 V, so the MR16 lamp applies, and that lamp is included.

⭐ Two heads, and the reason to take two rather than two singles

• ⭐ Two independently adjustable heads on one body, one mounting point and one supply.
• ⭐ THE OBVIOUS USE IS UP AND DOWN — ⭐ a column of light on the wall above and below the fitting, which is the classic facade treatment. ⭐ But because both heads tilt and swivel independently, they can equally throw both ways along a wall, or one at the wall and one at a tree.
• ⭐⭐ THE PRACTICAL ARGUMENT OVER TWO SINGLE FITTINGS: one hole, one cable, one seal to make good. ⭐ On a rendered or masonry facade every penetration is a cost and a potential leak, so halving them matters more than the fitting price difference.
• ⚠ The counter-argument is spacing. ⭐ Two heads on one body are close together; if you want two pools of light metres apart, two single fittings are the right answer and no amount of swivel will fix it.

⭐ 2 × 35 W maximum — and what to actually expect

⭐ The sheet gives 2 × 35 W Max, which is the holder ceiling per head, not a consumption figure. ⭐ The included tricolour MR16 lamps draw far less — typically around 5 to 7 W each. ⭐ SIZE THE 12 V DRIVER ON WHAT YOU ACTUALLY FIT, not on the maximum — ⭐ a driver sized for 70 W when the load is 14 W will work, but it is money spent and space taken for nothing. ⚠ Do leave headroom, though: LED drivers dislike running at their absolute limit, and 20 to 30% spare is the usual allowance.

⭐ Tricolour lamps included — set them together

⭐ Both lamps are switchable across three colour temperatures. ⭐⭐ ON A TWO-HEAD FITTING THAT IS A TRAP AS WELL AS A FEATURE: ⭐ the two heads are inches apart and if they are set differently the difference is unmissable. ⭐ Set both heads on every fitting to the same temperature at commissioning, and check it after any lamp replacement — ⭐ a replaced lamp defaulting to a different setting is the most common way this goes wrong months later.

⭐ Seven finishes, two of them solid

⭐ Black, White, Titanium Silver, Copper, Stainless Steel, Bronze and Brass. ⭐ 316 stainless steel and copper are solid; titanium silver is anodised; black and white are powder-coated aluminium. ⭐ Solid finishes have no coating to chip, so they weather rather than corrode — ⭐ which within a few kilometres of surf is the whole argument.

WE MEASURED THE SPLIT: two-light sheets name both, 3 of 3; one-light sheets, 0 of 3. A LATER REVISION THAT NEVER REACHED THE ONE-LIGHT DOCUMENTS. ⭐ A stale document rather than a wrong one, with a specific fix.
