Domus LYNX 2 X 3W TRIO LED IP54 240V 115mm Long

The Domus LYNX 2 × 3 W is a surface-mounted up-and-down wall or step light — 115 mm long, IP54, tri-colour switchable, CRI ≥90. 240 V mains — no driver required. ⛔ Not dimmable.

⚠ On the smallest LYNX, the mains version is the harder case to justify

• ⭐ This is the size you install in numbers — along a run of steps, down a path edge, across a low retaining wall.
• ⚠ And every one of those positions needs its own mains circuit, in conduit, terminated at the fitting.
• ⭐ The 12/24 V version needs one driver and a low-voltage run in parallel, and six fittings draw 36 W in total — well inside a 60 W driver.
• ⭐ So on a run, the low-voltage version is usually simpler AND cheaper, ⭐ and it dims, which this one does not.
• ✅ Where this version wins is a one-off: a single fitting beside a door or on one step, onto an existing mains point, with nowhere sensible to put a driver. ⭐ Then it is the obvious choice.

⛔ Not dimmable — and neither listing says the other exists

• ⛔ This 240 V version does not dim. ✅ The 12/24 V version does.
• ⭐ We measured all 10 LYNX listings: five sizes, five pairs, and in every pair the 240 V version is not dimmable and the low-voltage one is. ⭐ A rule, not a coincidence. ⛔ No listing mentions its pair.
• ⚠ On a run of small fittings left on dusk to dawn, dimming is where the running cost is.

✅ Its 240 V record is correct

✅ This listing records voltage = 240V, and that is right. ⛔ Its 12/24 V twin records the same figure and there it is wrong — a low-voltage fitting labelled as mains, one of 12 Domus fittings carrying that error. ⭐ Same value, correct here and dangerous there.

⭐ 115 mm is small enough to disappear — and modest by design

• 408 lm at 3000 K rising to 490 at 5000 K, across two emitters.
• ⚠ That is modest, ⭐ and it is the point. On a step riser or a narrow path edge, just over a hand's width reads as a detail rather than a fixture.
• ⭐ Plan on more of them at closer centres rather than expecting one to cover a length.
• ⭐ It is also the most efficient LYNX — ⭐ ≈82 lm/W against 62 on the 2 × 12 W — ⚠ so more small fittings genuinely beat fewer large ones on energy as well as evenness.
• ⛔ Its power field records 3 W on a 2 × 3 W fitting — ⭐ allow 6 W each for circuit load.

⭐ CRI ≥90, and where the up-light earns it

CRI ≥90 against the ≥80 of most of this catalogue — ⚠ measured, 100 of 282 Domus products stating a CRI reach 90, which is 35%: ⭐ a substantial minority, clustered in strips, step lights and exterior wall lights. ⭐ The upward emitter is where it shows, on brick, render or stone. ⚠ On a low riser with nothing above it, that half is wasted — ⭐ the single-emitter 3 W LYNX is the fitting there.

• A single step or doorway onto an existing mains point — ⭐ where this version is the obvious choice.
• Step risers and low walls where a larger fitting will not sit.
• Retrofits with no driver location available.
• ⚠ Not for a run of six or eight — ⭐ the 12/24 V version is simpler, cheaper and dims.
• ⚠ Not on a free-standing edge — the up-light needs a wall.
