The Domus LYNX 2 × 3 W is a surface-mounted up-and-down wall or step light — 115 mm long, IP54, tri-colour switchable, CRI ≥90. 240 V mains — no driver required. ⛔ Not dimmable.
✅ This listing records voltage = 240V, and that is right. ⛔ Its
12/24 V twin records the same figure and there it is wrong — a low-voltage fitting
labelled as mains, one of 12 Domus fittings carrying that error. ⭐ Same value,
correct here and dangerous there.
CRI ≥90 against the ≥80 of most of this catalogue — ⚠ measured, 100 of 282 Domus products stating a CRI reach 90, which is 35%: ⭐ a substantial minority, clustered in strips, step lights and exterior wall lights. ⭐ The upward emitter is where it shows, on brick, render or stone. ⚠ On a low riser with nothing above it, that half is wasted — ⭐ the single-emitter 3 W LYNX is the fitting there.
application = Indoor on a fitting typed Exterior Wall Lights.
⛔ No warranty recorded.
Surface-mounted up/down LED wall and step light. 115 mm. 2 × 3 W (6 W total). 240 V mains — no driver. Switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K. 408–490 lm. CRI ≥90. 120°. IP54. Cast aluminium, chromate pre-treated and powder coated. TPS cable gland. 50,000 hrs. Black or White. ⛔ NOT DIMMABLE — the 12/24V version is. ⚠ On this size the low-voltage version is usually simpler AND cheaper for a run, since one driver feeds six fittings drawing 36W in total. ⭐ This version is the right choice for a one-off on an existing mains point. ⚠ The power field records 3W on a 2 × 3W fitting: allow 6W each. ⛔ Warranty not recorded.

On this size, low voltage for a run and mains for a one-off. This is the fitting you install in numbers — along steps, down a path edge, across a low wall — and every mains position needs its own circuit in conduit terminated at the fitting. The 12/24V version needs one driver and a parallel low-voltage run, and six fittings draw only 36W in total, well inside a 60W driver. So on a run the low-voltage version is usually simpler and cheaper, and it dims. Where this version wins is a single fitting beside a door onto an existing mains point, with nowhere sensible to put a driver.
No — this 240V version does not, and the 12/24V version of the same fitting does. We measured all ten LYNX listings: five sizes, five pairs, and in every pair the 240V one is fixed output and the low-voltage one dims. It is a rule rather than a coincidence of this size, and no listing mentions its pair. On a run of small fittings left on dusk to dawn, dimming is where the running cost is.
Yes. It is worth saying because the identical figure on its 12/24V twin is wrong — that one is a low-voltage fitting labelled as mains, one of twelve Domus fittings carrying that error. The same value is correct here and dangerous there, which is why each SKU is checked rather than the range read once. If you are buying this one, the mains wiring is genuinely right.
For what this size is for, yes. On a step riser or a narrow path edge, just over a hand's width reads as a detail rather than a fixture, which is usually what you want at knee height — and modest output is part of that. Plan on more of them at closer centres rather than expecting one to cover a length. It is also the most efficient LYNX at about 82 lumens per watt against 62 on the 2 × 12W, so more small fittings beat fewer large ones on energy as well as evenness.
6W — two 3W emitters. The power field records 3W, which is one emitter rather than the fitting, so allow 6W each when calculating circuit load. It is a small absolute figure but on a run of eight it is the difference between 48W and the 24W the record implies.
Only where there is a surface above it. Against a wall the upward emitter makes the wall read as lit rather than the fitting read as bright. On a low step riser with nothing above, half the fitting is doing nothing, and the single-emitter 3W LYNX is the better buy. Worth checking on this size in particular, because 115mm fittings often go exactly where there is no wall to graze.
The body treatment is built for it: cast aluminium with a chromate conversion process before the polyester powder coat, which gives the coating something to key into. Powder coat lifting off untreated aluminium is how surface-mounted exterior fittings usually fail — cosmetically, with the coating blistering and the metal corroding beneath. At IP54 it is rated for splashing rather than jets, so keep it clear of direct hosing and off the coastal front line.
