The Domus LYNX 2 × 12 W is a surface-mounted up-and-down wall or step light — 260 mm long, IP54, tri-colour switchable, CRI ≥90. 240 V mains — no driver required. ⛔ Not dimmable.

⛔ This is the version that does not dim — and the choice is not obvious

• ⭐ Same fitting, same output, same CRI, same body. The only differences are how it is powered and whether it dims.
• ⛔ Neither listing mentions the other, so a buyer choosing on price or availability can end up with a fitting that will not do what they assumed.
• ⭐ We measured all 10 LYNX listings: five sizes, five pairs, and in every pair the 240 V version is not dimmable and the low-voltage one is. ⭐ It is a rule, not a coincidence of this size.
• ⭐ Take this version when the run is short, the fitting count is low, or there is nowhere dry to put a driver — it wires like any mains fitting and there is nothing extra to fail.
• ⭐ Take the low-voltage version when you want to dim, or when one driver can feed a long parallel run more cheaply than a mains circuit to each position.

✅ Its 240 V record is correct — which is worth saying

• ✅ This listing records voltage = 240V, and that is right.
• ⛔ Its 12/24 V twin records the same figure, and there it is wrong — ⚠ a low-voltage fitting labelled as mains.
• ⭐ The same value, correct on one listing and dangerous on the other, which is exactly why we check each SKU rather than reading a range once. ⭐ 12 Domus fittings sold as 12 V or 24 V carry the wrong 240 V figure.
• ⭐ So if you are buying this one, the mains wiring is genuinely correct.

⭐ Up and down, at the most output in the range

• Two 12 W emitters — one up the wall, one down — 1,256 lm at 3000 K rising to 1,482 at 5000 K.
• ⭐ Three times the 2 × 3 W and double the 2 × 5 W, so it suits a tall wall, a wide entrance or a facade with height to cover.
• ⚠ And it is the least efficient of the four sizes — ⭐ about 62 lm/W against 82 on the 2 × 3 W. ⭐ Several small fittings beat fewer large ones where coverage allows.
• ⚠ Its power field records 12 W on a 2 × 12 W fitting. ⭐ Allow 24 W per fitting when calculating circuit load — on a run of ten that is 240 W, not 120.

⭐ CRI ≥90 on an up-light is where it shows

CRI ≥90, where most of this catalogue is ≥80. ⚠ We measured how special that is: 100 of the 282 Domus products stating a CRI reach 90 — 35%, ⭐ a substantial minority rather than a rarity, clustered in strips, step lights and exterior wall lights. ⭐ It matters most on the up-light half of this fitting: light grazing brick, render or stone shows colour rendering more than almost any other application, and at CRI 80 warm masonry reads flat and grey.
