The Domus BF-8259 is a 360 mm raw ceramic wall light, 100 mm high with a 150 mm projection, taking one E27 lamp and supplied unpainted.

  • ⛔ Nothing in either record or either datasheet says what separates them. Both sheets read only “Raw ceramic wall light”, and the two records give the same width and the same projection.
  • ⚠ Two consecutive model numbers are not usually the same product, so something does — most likely the shape of the aperture or the profile of the shell, neither of which is a recorded field anywhere in this range.
  • ✅ If you are choosing between them, ask us and we will compare a pair side by side. That is a question a photograph answers and a datasheet does not.

What is the difference between this and the BF-8258?

On every recorded figure, nothing — both are 360mm wide with a 150mm projection, and both datasheets read only "Raw ceramic wall light". The only difference in the data is that this one records a height of 100mm and the 8258 leaves it blank. Two consecutive model numbers are not usually the same product, so something does separate them — most likely the aperture shape or the profile of the shell, neither of which is a recorded field anywhere in this range. Ask us and we will compare a pair side by side; a photograph answers this and a datasheet does not.

Is the maximum 20 watts or 60 watts?

The datasheet says 60W and our record says 20W. Across the twelve E27 raw ceramics in this range, eleven carry the same conflict, and the twelfth — the BF-2440 — has a sheet genuinely reading "20W CFL", which looks like the source. We work to the datasheet's 60W, and an 8–10W E27 LED sits under both readings anyway.

Will one lamp light 360mm properly?

Evenly rather than brightly, and on a wall this wide that is the better result — a bright patch on a broad surface looks worse than a soft band across it. Treat it as ambient light rather than task light, and put a 10W E27 LED in it rather than an 8W; across 360mm the difference is visible.

How far does it stand off the wall?

150mm, which is one of the deeper projections in this ceramic range. On a living-room wall or a stairwell landing that is fine and it carries light further across the ceiling. In a narrow corridor it is enough to catch a shoulder, so measure the passage first.

Will any E27 globe fit?

The base will, the body might not. E27 LEDs vary in length and girth and the ceramic cavity is fixed, so a long candle or a large decorative globe can foul it. Choose a compact globe shape, or send us the lamp and we will check it against the fitting.

Do I have to paint it?

No — the raw ceramic is a deliberate look and many are left as they arrive. It is porous until painted or sealed, so it marks more easily than a finished surface. If it sits where hands reach, finish it.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. Raw ceramic is porous until painted and the fitting is rated for indoor dry use only. For a bathroom, ask us for something with an IP rating suited to the zone.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
