• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

Down-arm or up-arm — the choice changes the light and the glare

• Down-facing (this) hangs the lantern below the S-arm. ✅ The light lands closer to the wall and lower down, which suits a doorway, a step or a path running alongside the building.
• Up-facing holds the lantern above the arm. ✅ It throws light further out and reads as more formal — the traditional carriage-lamp arrangement.
• ⚠ The down-arm is the better choice where people pass close to the wall, because the lantern sits lower and the light is on the ground where they are walking.
• ⚠ The up-arm is better where the fitting is seen from a distance — a facade, an approach — because the lantern is held clear and reads as an object.
• ✅ Both take the same lantern, the same lamp and the same five finishes, so a property can mix them without a mismatch.

⚠ 290 mm of projection — check the position

• The arm holds the lantern 290 mm out from the wall.
• ⚠ Beside a door, check it against the door swing and the architrave. On a narrow entry porch 290 mm is enough to be in the way.
• ⚠ Along a path, allow for anyone carrying something. A wall bracket at head height on a narrow side path is a hazard rather than a light.
• ✅ Mount it above head height — typically 2 m to the underside — and the projection stops mattering.

⛔ The maximum lamp wattage is not recorded anywhere

• B22 bayonet, and no source states a maximum. ⚠ Every AVIGNON configuration shares this gap.
• ✅ An LED B22 at 9–11 W gives roughly what a 60 W incandescent did and runs cool inside a sealed acrylic lens.
• ⚠ Use an opal globe, not a clear filament one. On a down-arm the lantern is lower and closer to eye level for anyone approaching, so a visible filament is more noticeable than it would be overhead.
• 2700–3000 K — warm light at an entrance reads as welcome.

⚠ IP43 — and a wall gives it some help

• Spray falling at up to 60° from vertical — not driven rain, not hosing.
• ✅ A wall bracket is better placed than a post top, because the wall shelters one side and an eave or a soffit above often shelters the rest.
• ⚠ On an exposed gable wall with no overhang it is marginal. Tell us the position and we will say.
• ⚠ The acrylic lens can craze under years of full sun — on a north-facing wall expect the lens to need replacing before the body does.

Its sheet reads "Requires: Lamp GT-271 Wall Bracket" — ⛔ on a listing that is a wall bracket. The line names another configuration in the family rather than a part. What this needs is a fixing into the wall and a B22 lamp.
