ZOOM-PRO 30W 12/24V DC GARDEN SPIKE LIGHT C/W HOOD

The Domus ZOOM-PRO 30 is a 30 W COB LED garden spike light with a hood, running on 12 V or 24 V DC, IP67, with a 40° beam and switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K.

The size, and a figure we are correcting

• Ø78 mm head, 123 mm body, 260 mm overall including the spike.
• ⚠ Our record says 238 mm. That is the overall length of the 12 W ZOOM-PRO, recorded correctly on that product — so the figure has been copied from the smaller fitting. The 30 W is 260 mm, from its own datasheet.
• ⚠ The head is meaningfully bigger too — Ø78 mm against Ø56 mm. In a small bed that is a visible difference.

Choosing between the 30 W and the 12 W

• 30 W — 1,930 / 2,070 / 2,010 lm. Mature trees, palms, two-storey walls, tall specimen planting, anything more than about four metres of throw.
• 12 W — 870 / 980 / 930 lm. Shrubs, small trees, single-storey walls, feature planting.
• ⚠ Do not put a 30 W on a small shrub. It will be blown out and glary, and the 12 W will look better for less money and less power.
• ✅ Both share the same beam, driver requirement and IP rating, so they mix freely on one low-voltage circuit — which is usually the right answer in a garden with a mix of planting sizes.

The beam and the colour

• 40° — a narrow flood, which is what keeps 2,000 lumens on the tree rather than washing across the fence behind it.
• 3000 K on render, stone, timber and paving; 4000 K into a green canopy, where it keeps foliage green rather than olive; ⚠ 5000 K for commercial and security only.
• CRI ≥80, not dimmable, and the colour is set by dip switch before the spike goes in.

Wiring and lifespan

• ⛔ 12 V / 24 V DC LED driver required — not included. At 30 W each these draw real current, so the driver sizing and the cable run matter far more than on the 12 W. Running the system at 24 V halves the current for the same power, which is usually the fix for a long garden run.
• ⚠ 30,000 hours, not the 50,000 most of this catalogue quotes — normal for a COB chip in a sealed body, and worth knowing for a fitting that ends up buried in mulch.
• ✅ IP67 — temporary immersion, which a garden bed will deliver.

• ✅ Mature trees, palms and tall specimen planting.
• ✅ Two-storey rendered, stone or brick walls.
• ✅ Beds that flood or get sprinklered — IP67.
• ⛔ Not on small shrubs — use the 12 W.
• ⛔ Not a path light — 40° at ankle height is glare.
